Have your student participate in our K2C contests for a chance to win scholarships for college! K2C is holding three contests for students this school year: a 5th grade Art Contest, a Middle School Poetry Contest and a High School Short Video contest for 9th and 10th graders. Students can get creative this winter and create a piece of art, a poem, or a short video responding to the theme “I am the Future.” Your student’s school will select an individual winner, in which they will receive a $50 K2C scholarship for the art contest and $100 K2C scholarship for the poetry and short video contests. From there each school winner will be entered into an overall citywide contest and the winner for each contest will receive a $500 K2C scholarship! Celebrate the Holidays with K2C! During December, many people across the globe celebrate through different cultural traditions and holidays. This holiday season, we encourage students and families to think differently when it comes to holiday gifts. Rather than buying typical presents, you could ask friends and families to instead make a deposit into your K2C account. Save now for a brilliant future tomorrow! Please see here for the different ways that friends and families can make deposits. Do you not know your student’s K2C account number? Find it here. With my team we hold college savings deposit events to make it more accessible for the families we serve and to create awareness about saving for college.” -Eleazar Martinez, Family Connections Support Manager Family Connections Centers (FCC) has been a K2C partner organization for more than 10 years. FCC supports families and students to help increase enrollment and participation in the K2C savings plan for families with children enrolled in the 4 schools they serve. The mission of Family Connection is to develop strong, healthy families and to build thriving communities. Eleazar Martinez is FCC’s Support Manager and he has been working diligently, especially during the stay at home order to make sure families know their students have a savings account with K2C.
