Teddy Bear Clinic this Saturday!

Kids are invited to bring their well-loved stuffed animals to the Teddy Bear Clinic (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=ae47c826fd&e=7683a9aed3)  this Saturday! As part of our animal wellness program, Zoo vets will be on call from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on February 22 to examine your child's beary best friend and administer bandages, stitches, or extra fluff as needed.  After the check-up, make sure to stop by the Grizzly Bear Feeding at 11 a.m. to learn about our very own rescued grizzly bear sisters!

Meet Peter Rabbit, star of Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation upcoming film, PETER RABBIT 2: THE RUNAWAY, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Osher Great Hall and be sure to pick up promotional movie items including ear headbands, bookmarks, and posters!

This event is free with paid zoo admission and will be held in the Osher Great Hall in the Lurie Education Building.
Princes, Princesses and Frogs, Oh My!

February 29 is a magical day that happens once every four years, and what better time to leap into fantasy and fun, then on Leap Day! We are inviting our royal guests to don their prettiest princess dresses, and most handsome prince outfits (and maybe come as your favorite frog!), to our first ever Princes, Princesses and Frogs, Oh My! event to celebrate Leap Day. You will meet some of your favorite princesses in-person, including Anna from Frozen, Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Moana, on Nature Trail from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Be among the first 200 to receive your very own tiara when you visit our main gift shop. As you travel through our Exploration Zone, you may notice that we have recently acquired a few new residents. Across from the Fisher Family Farm, we now have an aviary housing a pair of kookaburras and a pair of Temminck’s tragopans. Right next door to these birds you will find a habitat shared by two red-rumped agouti and a white-cheeked turaco. Next time you visit the Children’s Zoo come on by and check out our new residents!
Zoo Camp Registration Opens February 26

Summer Zoo Camp is the perfect place for your animal-loving child. Campers entering Pre-K (must be 4 years old) to 5th grade can enjoy up to three weeks of Zoo Camp fun and learning.  We also offer Conservation Camp for 6th and 7th graders and Wellness 101 Camp is open to 8th - 12th grade campers. Orientations for our popular Nature Trail program, for teens 12-14 years old, will be held on 2/23 and 2/29 at 10 am. Orientations for our Talk on the Wild Side and Zoo Teacher Assistant programs, for teens 14-17 years old, will be held those same dates at 1 pm.
