Dear Bay Area Children's Theatre Community,

stands with the Black Community against
Racism, Inequality and Hate.

Black Lives Matter
Black Children Matter
Black Artists Matter

Bay Area Children's Theatre is dedicated to the fight against the systems of racism that are keeping black children silenced, hurting, and in constant danger.

We are taking action to fight racism wherever and however we can.  And we are doing the hard work of examining the fundamental business structure of theatre and creating a plan to dismantle the racism within that system.

Bay Area Children's Theatre will uphold the following ideals:

• Representation Matters

• Access is critical for BIPOC children

• We must do all of our work within the framework of anti-racism

• Leadership on the staff and board must represent the community

• Our artists and educators must represent the community

We know that ideals are not actions, so we are doing the work now to create a roadmap that includes measurable outcomes, goals and timelines.

We are grateful for our community and we look forward to this opportunity to continue to grow and learn as we serve the children of the Bay Area.
