November is National Scholarship Month November is National Scholarship Month to raise awareness of scholarship opportunities for future college students. Here at K2C we know that the cost of college can be overwhelming for many families across our nation and in our City. We want to use the month of November to raise awareness about the existence of scholarships – including those available through K2C. The earlier students and families learn about the existence and importance of scholarships the more likely they are to take advantage of all the scholarship opportunities available which can help reduce and avoid student debt. Updated Roadmap to College - Creating a College-Going Culture Guide SFUSD Counseling updated the Roadmap to College which is a resource guide for SFUSD staff to use to create a college-going culture in their classrooms and schools. The Roadmap to College was initially designed for elementary schools but through the years has been updated to include a curriculum and resources for middle and high schools. It is available on our K2C website. Any teacher, advisor, or school counselor is welcome to incorporate this curriculum to create a college-going culture in their classroom and school and to ensure that every SFUSD student aspires to attend college. Special thanks to Lead Counselor Mariana Chavez for spearheading this effort and K8 Counselor Katia Fuentes-Martinez and Lead Counselor Ling Busche for leading the elementary and middle school efforts.
