He’s small, but mighty! Meet Nigel, our 7-year-old male burrowing owl who resides in the Koret Animal Resource Center (ARC). He’s inviting all of you to join him on his big adventure through San Francisco Zoo & Gardens! Follow the clues, meet some of Nigel’s friends and learn some fascinating facts along the way!
When you get to the final clue, scan the QR code to get to Nigel’s personal web page! There, you’ll find a fun video showing off some of Nigel’s amazing talents, and a downloadable coloring sheet. Have fun, it’s going to be a hoot!

And while you can’t take Nigel home with you after your day at the Zoo, you CAN adopt many of our Zoo animals!   Our adopt-an-animal program enables you to directly contribute to the care and enrichment of your favorite Zoo animal. Monarch butterflies are on the move!

We are a proud partner of the new AZA SAFE (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=45c6d2a2f4&e=7683a9aed3) North American Monarch Program! To celebrate the start of the fall migration for monarch butterflies, we want to share some ways you can support this iconic species. Migratory populations of monarchs have experienced dramatic declines in recent years with western populations decreasing by as much as 99%. Major threats include climate change, pesticide use and habitat loss. We’re asking you to Play it SAFE this fall and keep monarchs in mind by planting native, pollinator-friendly plants to help bolster habitat for monarch butterflies. Clancy's Pumpkin Patch Returns!

Fall has arrived and Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=6bbf962b55&e=7683a9aed3) is returning with a location right outside of SF Zoo! After a full day of fun at the zoo, visit Clancy’s to pick out your favorite pumpkins for carving, decorating and baking. Zoo members and guests receive a 10% discount when they show a SF Zoo ticket or membership card.
Look what's coming back!

We are currently working with the City of San Francisco on a Little Puffer Health & Safety Plan and we hope to have it open to our members very soon. Staff and guest safety will be first and foremost and we've worked hard to create new protocols. Some changes include a line queue with paw prints 8 feet apart, 18 rider capacity (normal capacity is 42), and sanitation of high touch surfaces every hour. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and we look forward to welcoming you back for a ride on the Little Puffer Steam Train soon!
