SF Examiner: Mayor Breed, Sisters Hand Out Masks at Dolores
San Francisco Mayor London Breed helped hand out 1,000 masks at Dolores Park Friday
(September 4), as city officials expected people to flock to city parks this past
holiday weekend despite the city's stay-at-home orders.
With warm weather through Labor Day expected to draw out big crowds, the mayor teamed
up with the city's Recreation and Park Department and the LGBTQ advocacy organization,
the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, to remind park-goers to wear masks and take
 other precautions against COVID-19.

Stanyan Street Edge Project Nears Completion
While we still have work to finish, the fences came down from around the Stanyan

CAESAR MAXIMUS Production in Golden Gate Park on Video
Check out We Players' filmed production of CAESAR MAXIMUS that was set at the Music
Concourse in Golden Gate Park last year. The production uses the aesthetic language
of the original live performance to create a landscape of metaphor that investigates
exploitation of power, the danger of mob mentality and collective violence, as well
as elevating the presence of the female characters beyond what is found on the page

Air Quality in San Francisco
Today's dark orange skies are caused by a combination of fog and wildfire smoke.
 While this unexpected daytime darkness may look frightening, it is currently safe
to work and to be outside.  The current wind patterns are keeping smaller smoke 
particles up high and blocking the sunlight. Air quality at ground level is currently
at moderate levels.  While the air quality is currently at safe levels, there is
 reduced visibility outside. Please take caution when outside, and remember to wear
a mask and maintain social distance.

and also makes modifications that allow for doubles play (tennis and pickleball)

Youth Stewardship Program Internship

 our Youth Stewardship Program (YSP). Use your knowledge and passion for the outdoors
by leading field trips for youth, supporting our parks through volunteer days, developing

SF Shakespeare Festival Livestream Shows in September
For almost 40 years, San Francisco Recreation and Parks has partnered with the San
Francisco Shakespeare Festival to offer free Shakespeare in the Park. Traditionally,
these shows have taken in place in iconic settings such as Golden Gate Park and 
Jerry Garcia Amphitheater but have gone virtual for 2020. Be sure to tune in for
 live free virtual productions of King Lear every Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday 
at 4 p.m. through September 27, with a special Labor Day performance at 4 p.m. on
