Playgrounds and GGP Observation Wheel to Open in Coming Weeks
Great news! Mayor London Breed; Director of Health Dr. Grant Colfax; and Assessor-Recorder
Carmen Chu, co-chair of the City's Economic Recovery Task Force, announced yesterday
that San Francisco will move toward the reopening of playgrounds in the coming weeks.
If San Francisco remains in the State-assigned Orange tier, DPH will issue directives
and guidance to allow our playgrounds to reopen by October 14.  Neighborhood playgrounds
play a critical role in helping children solve problems and develop social and emotional
skills, particularly since play at school has been diminished by the coronavirus.

A Tribute to the Late Phil Arnold
Friends and family of the late Phil Arnold gathered on September 25 at the Oak Woodlands
in Golden Gate Park to unveil a boulder dedicated to the beloved parks advocate 
and former chair of the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council Board.
The new boulder welcomes visitors to the Phil Arnold Trail that winds through the
northeastern corner of Golden Gate Park.
Phil supported the realignment of the Bay Area Ridge Trail in order to connect Twin
Peaks, Mount Sutro, and the Oak Woodlands, providing the public with a fantastic
 opportunity to cover significant ground within the city on nature trails rather
 than on streets.
Help us honor Phil's legacy by visiting the Oak Woodlands and walking among some
 of the oldest coast live oak trees in San Francisco.
