Fracchia Prize Golden Gate Park Celebrates its 151st Birthday This past Sunday, April 4, we celebrated 151 years of Golden Gate Park. For its 150th birthday, we had planned a party before the world was upended by a global pandemic. But a party might not have been the most fitting acknowledgment of what Golden Gate Park means to San Franciscans. This past year, the iconic park did what it has always done best—served as a place of refuge. Our Video of the Week takes a look back at its 150th birthday year, where we might not have had the celebration we had initially planned, but the park gave us exactly what we needed as a city. As the world begins to reopen, the park's 1,017 acres will continue to provide a world class space to run, play, laugh, reflect, and connect. Be sure to visit GoldenGatePark150.com where you can still celebrate the iconic park's nature, art, history and music from the past 150 years.
