We are thrilled to introduce a new experience, Senior Member Mornings! On the first Wednesday of a Fall month, beginning on September through December, our Senior-level Members are invited to join us before the Zoo's gates open at 9 a.m.  This month, on September 1, we're offering an exclusive, socially distanced horticulture talk at 9:30 a.m.! Reservations won’t be required – just show your Membership card. We look forward to seeing our Seniors soon!

We are continually working to find creative ways to boost local turtle populations and stop the decline of the only native California freshwater aquatic turtle, the Western pond turtle. Recently, we joined a coalition of federal, state and private partners across four western U.S. states and Mexico to develop a range-wide management strategy to ensure the long-term viability of western pond turtles in the wild. Native to Southern Madagascar, Lesser Tenrecs are nocturnal mammals that are often mistaken for hedgehogs, due to their prickly appearance. Our very own Lily & Petunia, pictured here, live behind the scenes at the Koret Animal Resource Center. The main item of business will be the election of officers & directors, as well as any proposed amendment(s) to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
