Every family should be aware of their child's saving account and the resources they have to access these accounts. K2C opens doors to make possibilities come true, as we all aim to further our young people’s dreams." -Elizabeth Fierst Please meet Elizabeth Fierst, Principal at Francisco Middle School. Ms. Fierst has been a very strong advocate and a champion for Kindergarten to College (K2C) children saving account program. Since the inception of K2C, she has significantly engaged families and students to learn about K2C and the importance of saving for college by offering financial literacy training for her students and families. In Francisco Middle School these financial literacy workshops are offered through the Family Cafe sessions in different languages such as Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic. Prior to being the principal at Francisco Middle School, Ms. Fierst was the principal in Hoover Middle School, where she also supported students and families in their dreams and aspirations to go to college. The K2C I Am the Future Incentive Last year K2C received funding that allowed us to pilot a new equity incentive to support the most vulnerable SFUSD students. This incentive offers first and second graders in targeted SFUSD schools an opportunity to earn up to $450 in their K2C account (on top of ongoing incentives). This January K2C sent students and families a care kit with more information regarding this incentive. With the initial $50 opening deposit, these students will have at least $500 showing them that San Francisco believes in their future college education and dreams! Eligible families with questions can contact K2C directly. See list of schools to the right.
