K2C Received New Funding from the California Student Aid Commission! The K2C program just received new funding from the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC)! Many new and current programs across the state received funding to finance children’s savings accounts. We are thankful that CSAC continues to support students in San Francisco to start and continue saving for post secondary education. This new funding will help us to continue doing the great work with our students and families. We will be able to expand our outreach and engagement efforts to families and students as well as to provide new incentives to SFUSD students for their future college or post secondary education. If you want to learn more about the CSAC please click here. February 5th is the Deadline to Submit your Work for the K2C Contests! Visit k2csf.org January is National Mentoring Month January is the national mentoring month and it is a good opportunity to remind students how important it is to talk to your school counselors and teachers about career paths and interests. As parents, we can be important mentors in our kids’ lives and future dreams. We encourage you to talk to your kids about their career dreams and aspirations as early as kindergarten. Research shows that small savings can make a different in students’ future college accomplishments but believing that they can achieve these dreams can also go a long way. Ask a Student! Anyone can encourage a child's aspirations. We’ll provide a suggested question each month that you can ask students you know! This Month's Question: What are your favorite new year’s resolutions? What do you think your new year’s resolutions will be when you’re in college?
