He’s small, but mighty! Nigel, our 8-year-old male burrowing owl who resides in the Koret Animal Resource Center (ARC), invites you all to join him on his big adventure through San Francisco Zoo & Gardens beginning October 1! Follow the clues, meet some of Nigel’s friends and learn some fascinating facts along the way!

When you get to the final clue, scan the QR code to get to Nigel’s personal web page! There, you’ll find a fun video showing off some of Nigel’s amazing talents, and a downloadable coloring sheet. Have fun, it’s going to be a hoot!

Oh my gourdness, it's officially fall! We are excited to annouce that Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch has returned with a location right outside of SF Zoo! After a full day of fun at the zoo, visit Clancy’s to pick out your favorite pumpkins for carving, decorating and baking. Zoo members and guests receive a 10% discount when they show a SF Zoo ticket or membership card. See you there!

To celebrate San Francisco Fleet Week, we are thrilled to welcome back the Navy Band Southwest’s Brass Quintet! Come and enjoy the 45 minute performance on October 7 at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Leaping Lemur Cafe.

Mark your calendars for Boo at the Zoo featuring Sloth-oween on Saturday and Sunday, October 23-24 and 30-31. Guests of all ages are invited to come in costume to celebrate. As you journey through the zoo you will find a variety of haunted houses featuring fascinating facts about sloths. We're also excited to host a costume parade and contest each of these days at 12 noon. Reservations open up two weeks before desired visit date.
