SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear SFUSD Families:
Dear SFUSD Families,

I strongly believe in the importance of ensuring each and every child has access to an amazing public education. If you’re reading this, you likely share this belief. That’s why I want to express how thankful I am for you and for our community for supporting our public schools. Time and again the whole San Francisco community shows up for public education. Most recently, San Francisco voters approved Proposition G in the November 2022 election, which will provide money from existing City funds to form a new Student Success Fund. This Fund will provide grants to individual schools for programs that can support the whole child so that they can reach their fullest potential. We are so fortunate to live in a community where people care about what happens in our public schools, whether or not they have children attending them. With the support of so many in our community, our schools are becoming more of what we want and need them to be for our children.

This annual event celebrates the progress schools have made toward providing an inclusive education for our diverse student population and our students marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economics status, cultural heritage, language preference and other factors.

James Denman Robotics Team Advances to Championship Competition

Congratulations to the James Denman Middle School robotics team for their successes at their first competition of the year! The team took home the Core Values Award at the [19] First Lego League Challengeon Sunday, Nov. 13 and advanced to the Championship round, which will take place next year.
