The Harvest Hallow Hay Maze Returns this Saturday

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Harvest Hallow Hay Maze! Come explore San Francisco's largest hay maze beginning this Saturday, September 17. It will be open every day through Halloween and is free for all guests!
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month

San Francisco Zoo and Gardens is proud to honor Hispanic Heritage Month (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=df79b1a886&e=7683a9aed3) and recognize the amazing species native to Latin America. Over the next month, make sure to check our social media channels as we highlight animals like the two-toed sloth, poison dart frogs and giant anteater. Explore our South American Tropical Forest that showcases animal ambassadors from the region and highlights their conservation status, in two languages, of course! There is so much to discover!
Collecting Eucalyptus for Our Koalas

Our incredible Horticulture Team works so hard to keep our Zoo looking lush and beautiful, but they also do important work to help provide browse materials for our animals. By continually supplying natural, home-grown branches and leaves, we can enrich the animals’ diets, stimulate their senses and replicate how they would eat in the wild and we wouldn't be able to do that without our Horticulture Team. Pumpkin season is officially here! Thank you to a generous couple for donating a giant pumpkin for Boone to enjoy! When the couple discovered a crack in the pumpkin and they realized it wouldn’t make it to Halloween, they donated it to our animals. Many thanks for this special treat. CONSERVATION CORNER

As a proud partner of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) SAFE North American Monarch Program, we want to share that the fall migration for monarch butterflies has started! Migratory populations of monarchs have experienced dramatic declines in recent years with western populations decreasing by as much as 99%. Help us Play it SAFE this fall and keep monarchs in mind. Here are some ways you can help:
1. Feed the migration by planting late blooming flowering plants
2. Keep caterpillars healthy by cutting down tropical milkweed
3. Plant monarch-SAFE plants that feed the migration, instead of plants poisoned with pesticides
4. Enjoy watching wild monarchs instead of rearing them indoors
5. Share (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=4c94a597cf&e=7683a9aed3) any monarch sightings with community scientists

The main item of business will be the election of officers & directors, as well as any proposed amendment(s) to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
