Dear Hoover Parents and Guardians,

My name is Ms. He and I am your child's 6th grade math teacher. It is my  
goal to build a classroom community in which all my students believe they  
are brilliant math learners. Throughout this year, I hope to challenge my  
students to: think critically and persevere academically, solve math  
problems using multiple representations, listen and rephrase ideas with  
classmates, and embody a growth mindset because productive struggle leads  
to meaningful learning.

I am excited to partner with you and your child this year, and to see your  
child find joy throughout the learning process. I would love to learn more  
about your child from your perspective! If possible, please write me a  
short (or long) note below to tell me more about your child so that I can  
best support them throughout this year.

Any information is helpful so that I can better support your child in their  
process of adjusting to 6th grade math and middle school overall.

Mi nombre es Sra. He y soy la maestra de matemáticas de sexto grado de su  
hijo. Mi objetivo es construir una comunidad en el salón de clases en la  
que todos mis estudiantes crean que son estudiantes brillantes de  
matemáticas. A lo largo de este año, espero desafiar a mis estudiantes a:  
pensar críticamente y perseverar académicamente, resolver problemas  
matemáticos usando múltiples representaciones, escuchar y reformular ideas  
con compañeros de clase y encarnar una mentalidad de crecimiento porque la  
lucha productiva conduce a un aprendizaje significativo.

Kai works very slowly. Their methods are often different than you would  
expect to get the correct answer. If showing the work is required, please  
state that. If a problem is optional, Kai will decline to do the problem.


I have seen and read the class syllabus together with my child. Students  
will receive a paper copy during class on the week of 8.21.23.



I understand that my child needs a composition notebook specifically for  
use in math class by Monday, 8.28.23.



He visto y leído el programa de estudios junto con mi hijo. Los estudiantes
