Scaregrove Volunteers Transform Preschool Outdoor Spaces Into New Play Areas Over the past two weekends, more than 100 Rebuilding Together San Francisco volunteers transformed two preschool outdoor spaces at Family Connections Centers and Friends of St. Francis into natural learning environments that inspire play and discovery in nature. With repurposed logs and stumps from our parks, these vibrant new play areas are gateways to a world of wonder inspiring the next generation of curious minds and nature lovers. Ten early childhood spaces will be "Natured-up" this year through the Connecting Children with Nature program led by the Low Income Investment Fund and San Francisco Department of Early Childhood. Thank you to the volunteers, partners, and everyone who contributed their time and energy to make this vision a reality, including Rebuilding Together San Francisco, the Friends of the Urban Forest, California Native Plant Society, Presidio of San Francisco, BASE Landscape Architecture, Scientific Art Studio, the San Francisco Public Library, Children and Nature Network, and the Children's Council of San Francisco Stay tuned for more updates and the grand unveiling of these play areas. "No Dancing" Art Installation on the JFK Promenade Our Video of the Week depicts the raising of the newest art installation on the JFK Promenade in Golden Gate Park. "No Dancing" is being installed this week across from Skatin’ Place at 6th Avenue though it's meant to encourage people to do the opposite. The final touches are being put on the installation and we anticipate it to be ready ahead of the weekend for you to start your own dance party! No Dancing is a project from Looking Up Arts, which had installed the sign on the playa for Burning Man earlier this year. The installation is a part of the Golden Mile, which is a project from Illuminate that has coordinated the Doggie Diner heads, pianos and yellow Adirondack chairs on the JFK Promenade.
