Hi, everyone!
Thanks so much for your leadership in church yesterday! I'm sure folks
spoke to you, but they also talked to me about how much they enjoyed having
you help lead yesterday! We'll continue with this on 2nd Sundays, with
folks rotating through roles.
We meet on Thursday for our confirmation. I'm copying the homework below. I
look forward to our meeting together!
Peace,
Janet
To do until we meet again!
Note that any questions posed below (in bold) you need to note your answers
in some way, and share with Pr. Janet before the next session. You can send
via email or set up a call/zoom session to talk about them. Let Pr. Janet
if another way of answering works better.

What: Help lead worship
-
When and Where: 2nd Sundays, 9:30-11:30
-
Details: I'm hoping you can target having your kids in worship on the

ahead of time,
we can have the kids rotate through different roles in worship - lector,
acolyte, liturgist (maybe shadowing an adult liturgist initially), etc.
Bible: the New Testament
-
Read Manna & Mercy, pp. 39-51
-
Choose one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) and read them
in your Bible
-
Answer these questions about the stories you chose and be prepared to
talk about them:
-
What do you think is interesting about this story?
-
What do you think is important about this story?
-
How much of the story from Manna & Mercy was in the gospel you read?
-
What more do you want to know?

Justice, therefore, represents the peace of God. This peace is freedom from
the violence that distorts the human person. It is the elimination, in
other words, of systems, constructs, and all actualities of violence. God's
peace thus requires a radical restructuring of a political, social, and
economic order that is sustained by and thus creates 'crucified classes of
people.' *Kelly Brown Douglas, Stand Your Ground, p. 195*
