Open Slots for Zen at the Zoo this Sunday
Just two moreZen at the Zoo (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=f596607b4f&e=7683a9aed3) yoga classes remain for the rest of the year, and you're in luck! We've opened some slots for the upcoming Sunday, October 1st session! This one-hour outdoor yoga class features Vinyasa Flow and is the most unique place to practice yoga around! Bring your own mat to the middle of the Leanne B. Roberts African Savanna where you will likely see giraffe, zebra, ostrich and kudu during their morning grazing time.

Suitable for all skill levels of yoga practitioners, Vinyasa Flow unites breath to movement while offering a variety of poses. You will flow between postures while building strength, endurance, balance and mental focus. Members: $25 and General Public: $50 and includes Zoo admission for the day. Visit the Hay Maze this Weekend!

Fall is here, so come out this weekend to experience the biggest hay maze in the City! Navigate the winding Harvest Hallow Hay Maze and find the fun animal facts along the way! You'll find a giant hay pit where you can jump right in, and for the little ones, we've got a maze that's just the right size for you to try out! Open daily through mid-November and located across from the Pachyderm Building by Great Ape Passage.
Navy Band Performs on October 3

San Francisco Fleet Week is back and once again we are excited to host Navy Band Southwest, the Prevailing Winds Woodwind Quintet, on Tuesday, October 3 at 12 noon. This 45-minute performance features the individual sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn to create their unique Quintet sound. They will perform in front of the Leaping Lemur Cafe across from the flamingo habitat. As part of Fleet Week, we are offering military members and veterans free admission with valid military I.D. See you for this inspiring, patriotic performance!
Calling All Volunteers!

Adult Volunteers Wanted!

Would you like to make a positive impact in our Zoo and work with the animals featured in our wildlife connection programs? Volunteering at SF Zoo can be a fun, educational and rewarding experience, especially at the Koret Animal Rescue and Conservation Center (ARC). We are seeking adult volunteers to work throughout the week and applications are currently being accepted. Come help us take care of our ferrets and guinea pigs, snakes and lizards, armadillos and more!

Minimum Requirements for Adult Volunteers*:
* You must be at least 18 years of age.
* You must attend a volunteer orientation.
* After being accepted, you must successfully pass a background check. There is a non-refundable administration fee for the background check. Additional fee for international background checks. There is a uniform fee of $30.00.
*  A minimum commitment of 6 months.

World Animal Day
Each year on October 4, World Animal Day, known as the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, is celebrated by animal lovers, fans and advocates. This year, the theme is "Great or Small, Love them All" and is meant to bring awareness to the need to improve animal welfare standards for animals around the world. As an accredited zoological park, we understand the importance of meeting and exceeding standards of animal care and wellness to ensure our animals live quality lives. This designated day celebrates animals, from your pets to wildlife in your own backyard, to farms and beyond!  And that's why it's Free Day for San Francisco residents with valid I.D. or utility bill.
Mark Your Calendars for Boo at the Zoo!
Join us for family favorite, Boo at the Zoo Presented by First 5 California on two consecutive weekends, Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22 and 28-29!  Come dressed in costume for our daily 12 noon costume parade and contest in the categories of Best Animal, Best Family, Judge's Favorite, and Best Toddler Costume. And throughout each day, you won't want to miss Halloween treats and pumpkins for the animals! More information coming soon!  Boo at the Zoo is free with paid Zoo admission.
