Hi, all -

We have Confirmation this Thursday, from 4:30 to 6:30. *Please* let me know
if you as a parent can stay and who is able to bring a snack. I've created
a little google sheet
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fWJ1mfPwctObwPlOx-IvT0sbwtdtAACxiOZHb_Jj5qA/edit?usp=sharing>
to track this - there are likely errors and missing info - please correct
it and add to it!

Upcoming Confirmation meetings are these upcoming Thursdays, from 4:30 to
6:30:
October 12
November 9
December 14

Students will help lead worship on the following Sundays:
October 8
November 12
December 10

Finally - a reminder of what we're doing this week:

Bible: the New Testament

   -

Read Manna & Mercy, pp. 39-51
   -

Choose one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) and read them
   in your Bible
   -

Answer these questions about the stories you chose and be prepared to
   talk about them:
   -

What do you think is interesting about this story?
      -

What do you think is important about this story?
      -

How much of the story from Manna & Mercy was in the gospel you read?
      -

What more do you want to know?

Can't wait to meet for confirmation tomorrow!

Peace,
Janet

Justice, therefore, represents the peace of God. This peace is freedom from
the violence that distorts the human person. It is the elimination, in
other words, of systems, constructs, and all actualities of violence. God's
peace thus requires a radical restructuring of a political, social, and
economic order that is sustained by and thus creates 'crucified classes of
people.' *Kelly Brown Douglas, Stand Your Ground, p. 195*
