Confirmation - lots of things!

Hi everyone,

And Anthony, please share this with Max and Neal.

Thing 1: Please let me know whether your kids can meet in September on
Monday or Tuesday after school, or possibly after worship on Sunday. Please
respond.

Thing 2: I talked with the kids about the confirmation service, including
choosing music. A friend of mine, Andy Bouman, has developed a list of
music that is appropriate for confirmation services, and I wanted to share
that with the kids in case they would like to explore some of these hymns -
most are in our ELW hymnal - the others we can get access to. The list is
attached. Some I especially like are: Send Down the Fire; Gracious Spirit,
Heed Our Pleading (well - that one's in the hymnal); Give Thanks, and Thuma
Mina. But I like a lot of them! They also include some (occasionally
schmaltzy) recordings if you'd like to know what they sound like. Also - we
could have a song in place of a Psalm at that service (I know we've talked
about how to get more music into the service).

Thing 3: I asked the kids to do some things before our next meeting. Here
they are, including a handy template for responding.
