“The youth of today are the architects of tomorrow. Invest in them, and the world will thrive.” – Desmond Tutu
Xitlaly, pictured above is one of our amazing senior High School interns. She has been working with us almost three years as a paid high school intern. Before that she was our student during her elementary and middle school years. Our Excelsior workshop is "like a second home" to her and a place where she can be curious and creative and explore interests she "didn't even know she had before". We are incredibly grateful to have Xitatly be such an essential part of our team and extremely proud of her work ethic and passion for community science.
Support our Fundraising Goal

Education has always been our most powerful instrument for progress and transformation. Creating a safe space for young people to tinker, build, explore, and nurture their curiosity is more important than ever, particularly when so much around us feels uncertain.

Please consider donating today on giving Tuesday to help us continue providing free and highly accessible programming, along with free community days at our three community science workshops. Your support will also help us expand our internship program, allowing our youth to take an active role in shaping their future.

We are far from our goal to raise $50,000 for our Holiday Campaign this year and we need your support to reach this goal.

Your donation is tax deductible and can also be matched.
Thank you so much. It means the world to us and our students.
Students and their families marvel at one of our snakes being fed after tinkering and taking electronics apart during a Mission Site Open Community Saturday Program.

Wine, Mushroom and Skulls

We are delighted to bring a unique sensory and learning experience to our Holiday Event!

This year, we will be providing a tasting and blending of the wines from the left and right banks of the historic Bordeaux region of France. We are excited to discuss how the weather, soil, and geography influence wine production, and are looking forward to seeing MSW friends create their own unique blends!

We will also be providing organic mycelium kits to grown your own wine cap mushrooms and also opportunities and materials to sketch real skulls.

This will be an epic event with wine, food and drinks please RSVP and reserve your ticket. Kids are of course welcome!

It is a free event for all our SFUSD and CBO partners but if you can contribute please make a donation here (https://give.communityin.org/MissionScience?ref=ab_5AtY9b) . Minimum suggested donation of $25 per person for this event.
