Tree Lighting Zach Bryan & Kings of Leon Concert; Tickets on Sale December 6 Saddle up San Francisco! Another Planet Entertainment (APE) today announced the next installment of the Golden Gate Park Concerts series with multi-Platinum, Grammy Award-winning performer Zach Bryan featuring special guests Kings of Leon and more to be announced. This show, produced in association with AEG, takes place on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3 to 10 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 6 at noon and can be purchased at goldengateparkconcerts.com. This concert series provides key economic benefits for San Francisco, while preventing cuts to City parks and programming. Under the approved agreement with the City, APE will hold two to three ticketed concerts in Golden Gate Park’s Polo Field in August after Outside Lands Music Festival for three years, which began earlier this year with System of a Down. Concert producers will fund free Muni rides to and from the Polo Field for concert ticket holders. In addition to the concerts in Golden Gate Park, APE is also producing complimentary concerts at Civic Center Plaza, Union Square and Embarcadero annually, also for three years. Summer concerts in the Polo Field have a footprint about a third the size of the Outside Lands Festival, and accommodate smaller, headliner-focused events that will use a portion of Outside Lands’ existing infrastructure to minimize impact on the park. The City’s permit fees, $1.4 million for a two-day event and $2.1 million for a three-day event, will allow Rec and Park to continue to offer programming to children, adults, and seniors across San Francisco, and care for its facilities. Golden Gate Park Concerts Japanese Tea Garden Debuts Redesigned Pagoda Plaza Enjoy the redesigned Pagoda Plaza at Golden Gate Park’s Japanese Tea Garden this holiday season! Award-winning Japanese Garden designer Hoichi Kurisu created the vision for the new space, which employed Tatsuyama stones, a valued building material in Japan for more than 1,700 years. The new Pagoda Plaza creates a more open atmosphere and will serve as a gathering space for taiko performances, bonsai demonstrations, and other cultural events. The upgraded plaza builds on the complete restoration of the 109-year-old pagoda, finished in 2022. For more information, including on how to plan your visit, click the link below. Camp Mather Jackson Playground Temporary Basketball Court Mural Coming in 2025 The outdoor basketball court at Jackson Playground will receive an aesthetic upgrade with a temporary art installation in early 2025. Rec and Park is working with artist Victor Solomon and the Courtside Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to restoring and elevating basketball courts with community, creativity and opportunity. The temporary art mural on the surface of the court will celebrate our city’s love of basketball as San Francisco gets ready to host the NBA All-Star game in February 2025 at nearby Chase Center. The concept design features overlapping, contrasting circles with a color pallet inspired by the San Francisco Bay. The mural is a temporary feature, as Jackson Playground is scheduled for a complete renovation beginning in 2027. Rec and Park has experience and success applying artwork on courts/surfaces working with artists on designs, including Hayes Valley Playground, Golden Gate’s Skatin’ Place, India Basin Shoreline Park, and most recently at our newest park, India Basin Waterfront Park. For more information, click the link below or email recparkpartnerships at sfgov.org.
