To Do during July 2024 (from our meeting on June 27, 2024)

Review

In class, we talked about the Reformation, the 10 Commandments, and the
Creeds. Please write, record a video, or draw a picture explaining what is
important to you about each of these (one for Reformation, one for 10
Commandments, one for Creed).

Baptism

   -

   Interview your parents about your Baptism - if possible video the
   interview; otherwise, take notes. When were you baptized? Where? Who was
   there? Why did your parents choose to baptize you? Add other questions as
   we discuss in class.
   -

   You should have the booklet “Water Washed and Spirit Born.” Read through
   pp. 16-19 on the path to being baptized for early Christians. Based on your
   interview with your parents, draw out your path to baptism.
   -

   Read chapter six and note any questions, ideas, issues, and things that
   are really cool or really weird. We’ll talk about this when we come back
   together.


Introduction to Communion

   -

   Ask your parents whether Communion is important to them or not. Why?
   What is weird about Communion for them? What do they think Communion is
   about? Answer the same questions for you. Again, please video or take notes
   on this conversation.
   -

   You should have the booklet “A Place for You.” Note that parts of this
   duplicate sections of Manna and Mercy and Water Washed and Spirit Born.
   Using this booklet:
   -

      Write your name in the box on the first page.
      -

      Read pp. 6-11
      -

      Answer the questions on those pages and draw yourself in (or put a
      sticker!) as invited.
      -

   Revisit the questions about communion. Have any of your answers changed?
   -

   We’ll talk about this when we come back together.
