** School Year 2023-24 Impact
------------------------------------------------------------
With three science workshops up and running this whole school year, we were able to reach the most students ever in our 33 years! 16,051 individual students participated in exciting, hands-on science programs this year. We partnered with 86 schools and community organizations, including several new partners that visited our brand new Bayview Science Workshop -- like KIPP Elementary School, Martin Luther King Elementary & Middle Schools, and Bret Harte Elementary School.

More than ever, we offered most of our programs completely free of cost or highly subsidized to meet the growing need for science education in San Francisco by high-need schools and community sites. We continue to work on raising the funds to offer free programming for those that may not otherwise have access to science enrichment.

It was an amazing year -- tinkering together, enjoying Saturday programs, learning to dissect owl pellets, build planter boxes, or uncover fossils! There's so much to discover at our science workshops, and we are grateful to be able to share it with you all.


** Growing Demand for Offsite Programs
------------------------------------------------------------
We served well over 5000 students with our offsite (mobile) programs alone this year including our Whale on Wheels and Blood Vessel programs! We love bringing our real juvenile gray whale skeleton and pulmonary artery replica to schools and community centers. We hope to increase our number of offsite programs next year. If you are interested in us bringing any of our mobile programs to you -- please let us know!


** Intern Highlight
------------------------------------------------------------
Gabby is one of our amazing High School Interns who just graduated from June Jordan HS and is pursuing Biology at University next Fall. We are so proud of you Gabby! Thank you for your dedication and amazing work ethic. We will miss you and will look forward to your visits during breaks!


** More Science and Tinkering Next School Year
------------------------------------------------------------
We are excited for new and expanding programs for next school year! We can't wait to share more about our new Environmental Justice After School Program in the Bayview. Thanks to the Kimball Foundation for the support in making this program a reality. And we are also very excited to expand our reach to South San Francisco schools and community centers with the support from the Amgen Foundation --as well as work with more SFUSD Middle School students at their school libraries! Stay tuned for more fun science and engineering programs for all.


** Volunteer Highlight
------------------------------------------------------------
Gary has volunteered at our workshops for over ten years now! He is an invaluable member of our team. He can build anything! Sturdy workshop furniture, original fun exhibits and more. He always brings a smile and good stories from his trips around the world where he proudly shows off our workshop tshirts and spreads the word on the work that we do.
We hope your summer is filled with tinkering, exploring and lot's of curious adventures!
