You won’t want to miss Sunset Fridays, our popular Friday event featuring live performances by amazing local musicians. This week and next, we’ve got two fantastic bands playing and we hope you’ll bring family and friends to enjoy the atmosphere, mood and the music!
August 15: Dance the Night Away with Big Blu Soul Quartet!

Feel the groove with Big Blu Soul Quartet at this week's Sunset Fridays! Guests will enjoy live music, outdoor bars, kid-friendly activities, ambassador animals, access to the Exploration Zone and more.

Visitors with a general admission ticket for daytime Zoo access will be able to attend Sunset Fridays at no additional charge. This is a free event for members of San Francisco Zoo & Gardens (membership card must be presented at entry).

Big Blu Soul Quartet brings the soul of San Francisco to the live stage. With an extreme passion for 60’s and 70’s soul, funk, rhythm and blues, the band shares their music influenced by legends like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Bill Withers and many more. The featured culinary items for this week have been crafted by Chef Bryant Riley and are cooked at a live expo kitchen during the concert! Enjoy these special items this week only:
* Carne Asada Street Tacos - Grilled marinated steak topped with fresh onions and cilantro. Served with crispy tortilla chips, a lime wedge, and both red and green salsa on the side.

* Chicken Quesadilla Cones - Golden, crispy rolled chicken quesadilla bites served on a bed of shredded lettuce, drizzled with smoky chipotle-lime crema, and a lime wedge.

VIP Tents are also available! In addition to everything you receive with a regular ticket, you can have access to a private VIP tent with even more benefits! VIP tents have private seating for six people and include:
* Seasonal and locally-sourced hors d’oeuvre platter
* Array of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, and canned cocktails)
* Bottled Water
* Complimentary parking for up to six vehicles

August 22: Jam Along with Wreckless Strangers!

Wreckless Strangers is a collective of six friends and musicians carrying the torch for San Francisco’s grand rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their unique stew of “Bay Area Gumbo” melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs; the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mack; the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan; and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability.

With soaring harmony vocals and burning instrumental improvisation framed in concise and poignant original songwriting, Wreckless Strangers seek to honor and carry forth the brand of free-spirited musical fun and adventure that defines the Bay Area.
