Bring a friend for free during the last two weeks of December! This special BOGO is a great way to enjoy the Zoo with loved ones, take in the festive atmosphere, and you might catch our animals being treated to anything from Christmas trees to snow!
Purchase your ticket online or at the ticket window to take advantage of this limited-time BOGO. The offer is good now through December 31! You'll receive one free guest ticket for every ticket purchased at equal value or for each membership card presented. Online purchases include a $1 processing fee on each free guest ticket. All tickets must be used on the same day.
December is a great time to visit when the kids are out of school, and you may have family and friends visiting! We are open 365 days a year, winter hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Plus, check out our Virtual Reality Zone to view our amazing lineup of Wild Explorer VR films, including our holiday experience "Elf Power."
Now through January 4, 2026, we are offering a BOGO to view two shows for the price of one, must be redeemed at the same time.

Hot Cocoa and Gift Cards Now Available!
What better way to warm up inside and out than by enjoying a delicious hot cocoa in your own adorable ceramic penguin mug, available now through the month of December at the Leaping Lemur Café! This special holiday offer is $18.99 and includes the mug to take home!

Join our Winter Zoo Camp this Holiday Break!
There are still spaces for our Winter Break Zoo Camps, with two sessions coming up. Learn about the Arctic Wild: From Snow Leopards to Penguins featuring a cold-weather themed camp where kids can explore the lives of all of our colder-climate animals here, including penguins, snow leopards, wolves, and grizzly bears. This winter wonderland theme offers animals that thrive in snow and cold.
Session 1 - December 22 to 24, Monday to Wednesday (Register no later than December 22).
Session 2 - December 29 to 31, Monday to Wednesday
Group Times:
* Pre-K (9 a.m. to 12 noon)
* Kindergarten (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
* 1st and 2nd Grades (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
* 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
Cost: $450 non-members, $300 for members

Special Online Docent Info Session
If you love animals and want to inspire others to care for wildlife, volunteer to become a Zoo Docent!
Docents connect guests with the wonders of the natural world through storytelling, education, and conservation action.
Our next session will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 6 p.m. as an online presentation! Join us via Zoom and enjoy an engaging presentation with plenty of time to ask questions to our current docents!

Enjoy Carolers This Weekend!
And just like that, the holidays are upon us! The "halls" are decked and festive, and everything is merry! This time of year is extra special as families get a chance to spend quality time together and what better place than a visit to the Zoo! We've got some special dates to look forward to, and as a reminder, our operating hours are now 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
* Saturday & Sunday, December 20 and 21 - Enjoy performances by our strolling carolers, The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers, the oldest and largest professional caroling company in the country, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
SF Zoo is open every day of the year, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Come celebrate the season with us!

Members Morning on January 7!

Members! Come early on Wednesday, January 7 as part of a special Members' Morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. You'll have access to the Zoo upon arrival at the Gatehouse to enjoy the Elinor Friend Playground and see animals usually active in the morning.
The Zoo opens at 9:30 a.m. to the general public for our monthly resident Free Day. Show an identification with your residential address to receive free admission to the Zoo all day.
Please be advised that Membership prices will increase starting January 5, so this is a great time to lock in 2025 rates whether you wish to renew your membership or sign up. Thanks for understanding.
