OBCA Ropes Course Community Day Confirmation

Dear Kai,

Thank you for signing up for the Outward Bound Community Day program on 2/22/2025 9am-12:30pm. If you can't make it, please contact me so we can offer the spot to a waitlister. Each person in your group should receive an individual confirmation email, if not this means they aren't registered.

Below is information to help you prepare for your course: 
 
What to Expect
 

Timing: 9am - 12:30pm. Please plan to stay until the end of the program. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can get started on time.

	We will start with a few warm-up games to set the tone for the day before getting geared up in helmets and harnesses. Instructors will then teach safety protocols and demonstrate a climb of one of the high elements. 
	While we can't make any guarantees, each participant typically has the opportunity to do 2-3 climbs. Please understand that you will not have time to climb every element that we have open.
	When you are not climbing, you will be asked to help with certain tasks on the belay team to support the climber.
	At the end of the day, you'll return gear and then participate in a brief closing reflection.

  

What to Bring

See attached packing list for more info on what to bring, clothing recommendations and more. It is often cooler and windier on the course than the rest of the City so pack lots of warm layers to stay comfortable. We have some raincoats if you need to use one for the day. This course will run rain or shine. 

Covid 19 Safety Practices

We ask that you stay home if you have any signs or symptoms of illness or test positive within five days before course.

 

If you were in close contact to someone who tested positive and do not have symptoms, please refer to the CDC Isolation and Exposure tool to help determine how long you need to quarantine and whether or not you would be able to participate. 

 
 Where to Go?
A good reference address is Mansell St. and Visitacion Ave. This will take you to the adjacent parking lot near the Philosopher's Way Trailhead. From the lot, cross Visitacion Ave to enter the park. There is also street parking on Mansell adjacent to the course. See the map below.
