Happy New Year Comunidad!

This month we have many exciting free drop in programs for you all. Please read the details below and stop by!

Every Tuesday at the Excelsior site we host Tinker Tuesdays from 3-5 pm and this month of February we want to celebrate Lunar New Year with you all and honor all our beautiful snakes for the year of the Snake!

We will also be hosting super fun Open Saturdays. First Saturday of the month at our Bayview Site in Charles Drew with free pizza and exciting activities and projects, Second Saturday at Mission with take apart projects and cool tinkering activities and Third Saturday at the Excelsior featuring a community walk and our giant immersive Blood Vessel!
The Heart of the Excelsior
We are planning something special for our February Third Saturday Community day on Saturday February 15!

We are planning a special event to promote exercise and cardiovascular health which will start with a neighborhood walk-scavenger hunt. We will start at 9 am in Balboa Park and stop at a few local spots to find the Heart of the Excelsior back at the workshop at 10 am where our giant walk-through artery and health related activities and games will take place.

We will have health related activities, local food and all our exhibits and animals as usual! Hope to see you all there.
Starting 2025 with Strong STEM Programs for All

We started 2025 strong by bringing our Immersive Blood Vessel to Everett Middle School where we had so much fun for a whole week of cardiovascular health and anatomy related activities. Our MS programs are growing a lot this year with not only MS Library Tinkering programs but also with so many off-sites. We are thrilled to be bringing our "Whale on Wheels" to Aptos MS in just two weeks!

And our three workshops have been full to the brim every day with school day field trips and after school programs from our amazing partners.

We are also enjoying bringing a record number of science programs to schools and community organizations like our exciting Environmental Justice Program where students are learning about mushroom soil remediation, renewable energy sources and more.
