### TPC Harding Park Celebrates 100th Anniversary, Announces Celebration July 18

As
TPC Harding Park (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/kenvwt)
celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, the club has announced a centennial celebration for July 18, along with activations at the course throughout the year.

Named after U.S. President Warren Harding, an avid golfer, Harding Park Golf Course opened on July 18, 1925, along the shores of Lake Merced, California, in San Francisco's southwest corner. The only city-owned public course in the PGA TOUR's
TPC Network (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/06nvwt), TPC Harding Park features 27 holes of championship golf and has a rich and storied history, including hosting the 2020 PGA Championship, won by Collin Morikawa, as well as the 2009 Presidents Cup, where the United States Team beat the International Team, 19.5 to 14.5.

TPC Harding Park is part of Rec and Park's legacy of accessible, high-quality public recreation. As a municipal facility, it serves both the local community and visitors from around the world. Through decades of memorable moments, Harding Park has crowned some of golf's greatest champions, including legends like Billy Casper, Byron Nelson, Gary Player, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.

At the centennial celebration on July 18, the first 200 golfers will receive a limited-edition centennial print by artist Lee Wybranski, a custom centennial challenge coin made from a storm-fallen cypress tree from Harding Park and all golfers will be entered into closest to the pin contests on each par 3, with prizes awarded to the winners.
Golfers can book their tee time for July 18 at this link (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/gzovwt).

### Professional Soccer Secures Home at Kezar Stadium with Landmark Agreement

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors earlier this week unanimously approved a transformative agreement that will bring professional men's soccer to
Kezar Stadium (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/ckqvwt)--and with it, more than $10 million in infrastructure improvements that will serve the entire community for decades to come.

The legislation, co-sponsored by Mayor Daniel Lurie and Supervisors Bilal Mahmood and Myrna Melgar, allows Rec and Park to enter a 15-year permit with
Golden City Football Club (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/scrvwt)
(GCFC), with three optional five-year extensions. Under the agreement, Kezar will become the permanent home of GCFC's future matches, and the team will also practice on other fields managed by the department.

The agreement requires GCFC to invest a minimum of $10 million in Kezar Stadium--the most significant capital investment in the facility in a generation. The improvements will touch every corner of the stadium and benefit the full range of users, from student athletes to neighborhood walkers. They include a brand-new natural grass field with modern irrigation, new seats and bleachers, a state-of-the-art sound system and scoreboard, ADA improvements, a revitalized press box and concession areas, and more. These improvements will be funded entirely by GCFC as part of the public-private partnership.

Importantly, community and school athletic access to Kezar will remain fully intact. The stadium will continue to host beloved traditions like the Turkey Day Game and Bruce Mahoney rivalry, as well as track meets, youth soccer, and football games. Kezar will remain the home field for Mission and Sacred Heart Cathedral high schools.

GCFC plans to join
MLS NEXT Pro (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/84rvwt), the developmental league of
Major League Soccer (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/oxsvwt), and will begin play at Kezar in 2026 or 2027. For more information, click the link below.

### Coyote Pupping Season in our Parks

As we hit the dog days of summer, it means that we're in the midst of coyote pupping season. While coyotes are generally wary of humans, parent coyotes may become territorial if you or your pet stumbles upon their den.

To foster a safe coexistence between yourself and our natural neighbors (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/4t0vwt), please take the following precautions:

  * Never feed coyotes or any wildlife
  * Keep dogs on leashes in our parks, unless in a designated off-leash dog play area
  * Only admire coyotes from a distance

If you encounter a coyote, slowly back away carrying any small children or pets. Do not run. You may also scare the coyote away by appearing large and making loud noises.

If you encounter a coyote or see someone putting out food for a coyote, report it to Animal Care and Control (ACC) at (415) 554-9400, or by email at noopener noreferrer (mailto:acc at sfgov.org).

For more information, visit ACC's coyote page at the link below.

### Pink Triangle Installed on Twin Peaks for Pride Month

June marks the annual celebration of
Pride Month (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/g3nxwt), with one of San Francisco's Pride traditions being the installation of a giant
Pink Triangle (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/wvoxwt)
(https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/copxwt)on Twin Peaks' northeast face. Our
Video of the Week (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/sgqxwt)
comes from NBC Bay Area and highlights the Pink Triangle installation in its 30th year.

This symbol, which was used by the Nazis to label and shame homosexuals, has been reclaimed by the LGBTQ+ community as a symbol of pride. The first installation was created in the 90s and over the years the medium has varied, but the message remains.

The installation was completed on June 7, with a commemoration ceremony atop Twin Peaks to mark the occasion. Unfortunately, the Pink Triangle was
recently vandalized (https://t.e2ma.net/click/cki9tj/wfcl20hc/88qxwt)--a stark reminder of how vital this symbol remains today in the ongoing fight against hate. Learn more about the Pink Triangle at the link below.
