A Roaring Success: A Night to Remember
Fundraising Event with the Legendary Chef Martin Yan
https://www.sfzoo.org/calendar-of-events/
On June 8, we gathered for a truly unforgettable evening at the historic SF Zoo Lion House — and what a celebration it was! Guests from across the Bay Area came together in support of the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens and our ongoing Asian Animal Conservation initiatives. The night raised funds to protect endangered species and preserve wild habitats for generations to come. From the moment guests arrived, the spirit of community and conservation was in full swing. The evening kicked off with cocktails, appetizers, and a lively silent auction.
** 🌟 A Culinary Experience with a Conservation Mission
------------------------------------------------------------
The evening continued with an incredible dinner and cooking demonstration by the legendary Chef Martin Yan, who wowed guests with his signature style. Attendees enjoyed a delicious one-of-a-kind meal, made even more meaningful knowing their evening directly supported animal care and global conservation efforts.
** 🎤 Bidding for Biodiversity
------------------------------------------------------------
The energy soared during the live auction led by emcee Liam Mayclem, where guests raised their paddles high in support of everything from animal enrichment programs to Asian species conservation. The closing of the silent auction wrapped the night with even more generous contributions — all in the name of wildlife and conservation.
** 🐼 Why It Matters
------------------------------------------------------------
This event wasn’t just a dinner — it was a statement. Every dollar raised supports our mission to care for endangered animals, educate the public, and fund conservation programs around the globe, including efforts to protect vulnerable animal species such as the once endangered Giant Panda.
Your support helps the San Francisco Zoo remain a vibrant, ethical leader in conservation — and ensures that every visit, every meal, and every memory has a deeper purpose.
** 💚 From All of Us at SF Zoo… Thank You!
------------------------------------------------------------
Whether you attended in person, bid in the auction, or helped spread the word, we are so grateful for your support. Also, wanted to thank and credit Mark Young, Michael O’Donnell (Instagram: @photo.sf (https://www.instagram.com/photo.sf) ), and Carla Zuber for capturing the photos used in this Animail. Together, we are making a difference — one animal, one habitat, and one unforgettable night at a time.
