USDA Renews SF Zoo’s License!
Great News from SF Zoo!

We’re excited to share some roaringly good news — the San Francisco Zoo has once again passed its re-licensing inspection with flying colors! Both the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) have officially renewed our license following a thorough inspection of our animal areas and species care. Every item inspected was found to be in full compliance — a true testament to the dedication and hard work of our incredible animal care staff.

While USDA inspections are part of a routine process that occurs every three years, we’re especially proud to meet and exceed these high standards year after year. This rigorous review confirms that our zoo is a safe, enriching, and compassionate environment for all our animal residents.

At SF Zoo, caring for animals goes beyond the basics. Our team is committed to delivering top-notch, individualized care — from proactive health checks to daily enrichment that keeps our animals physically and mentally stimulated.
