### Tennis Learning Center 10-Year Anniversary

Last Thursday, the Tennis Learning Center (TLC) in Golden Gate Park kicked off summer with over 100 K-5 children diving into tennis fundamentals and fun!

TLC offers year-round and summer programs at multiple San Francisco sites, including Excelsior Playground, Joseph Lee Recreation Center, Bernal Heights Recreation Center, Midtown Terrace, and Louis Sutter Playground. Each site provides a comfortable, familiar environment for students from the same school to learn and play.

This event marked the 10th anniversary of the TLC Program! Founded under Recreation and Parks General Manager Phil Ginsburg, TLC empowers children from underserved communities with tennis skills and one-on-one academic support. The program gets kids active for at least 30 minutes daily and exposes diverse youth to a sport they might not otherwise encounter. TLC also builds a strong community by encouraging parent participation.

# SF Botanical Garden Nursery Ribbon Cutting

Today, San Francisco Recreation & Parks celebrated the completion of the new nursery at the Botanical Garden along with the Gardens of Golden Gate Park. The new nursery will allow the Gardens to nurture plants for the living plant collections, grow unique plants for sale to the public, and exchange rare plants from around the globe with other botanical gardens, governments, and nonprofits with the goal of preserving these species and helping save them from extinction. This state-of-the-art facility was made possible thanks to generous campaign donors, and marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the Gardens of Golden Gate Park.
