# Remembering Tad Taube
Tad Taube, the largest single donor to the Campaign for Golden Gate Park Tennis Center, passed away on September 13 at the age of 94. A passionate tennis fan and generous philanthropist, Mr. Taube had a unique ability to act decisively when a cause inspired him.
In 2018, when the renovation campaign stalled, Mr. Taube stepped in with extraordinary leadership and support -- ultimately contributing $6.875 million, the campaign's largest gift. His commitment reignited the project, inspired others to give, and helped bring to life the Goldman Tennis Center and Taube Family Clubhouse--now a vibrant, inclusive hub for tennis and community in San Francisco.
Mr. Taube's impact extended throughout the Bay Area, including the Taube Tennis Center at Stanford, East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring, Youth Tennis Advantage, and Berkeley's Hellman Tennis Center. Beyond tennis, Mr. Taube's $2 million challenge grant helped ensure that the Bay Lights -- the dazzling light installation on the Bay Bridge--would become a permanent fixture on San Francisco's skyline.
San Francisco is brighter, on and off the court, because of him.

# Peace Parks: Creating Safe Spaces for San Francisco Youth
Rec and Park's Peace Parks program offers safe, welcoming spaces for youth ages 14 to 25 to connect, learn and stay active. With a presence in District 10 and the Fillmore District, the main hub for the program is
Potrero Hill Recreation Center (https://t.e2ma.net/click/oxsv4j/wfcl20hc/oxweev)
(801 Arkansas Street). The program features mentoring, job-readiness training, cooking and nutrition classes, and plenty of recreation -- including boxing, basketball and other sports and fitness activities.
Peace Parks promotes community wellness and violence prevention through recreation, friendship, and positive engagement. Programs run Wednesday through Saturday evenings across several recreation facilities, including Joseph Lee and Hamilton recreation centers, as well as Youngblood-Coleman, Herz Playground, and Margaret Hayward clubhouses.
For more information about how to get involved, email ray.t.kelly at sfgov.org (mailto:ray.t.kelly at sfgov.org).

Interested candidates must prepare a song to sing and bring sheet music for the provided accompanist for the audition. They also must bring a headshot and resume (if available) and prepare a monologue of no more than 2 minutes. Callbacks will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the center.
