Dear Friends, One of the ways that People’s Circus Theatre is unique is the community we build through and around our artistic work. We do this by hiring local artists, mentoring emerging artists, providing free training for professionals, creating original productions, and offering pay-what-you-can tickets to our shows. Another key way that we build community is by sharing our creative process with you. We open our work-in-progress to you because we value your feedback. When you observe our work-in-progress you become a part of the creation. Your in-time feedback helps to shape the future of our work. We invite you to peek behind the curtain this November, and see our latest creations in their rawest form. You can also express your inner artist whether it’s singing a karaoke song, or sketching a model, or juggling! Join us on November 7 or 8 at Circus Center for An Evening With PCT. Come make art with us! Sincerely, Felicity INFORMATION & TICKETS <https://peoplescircustheatre.org/an-evening-with-pct?ss_source=sscampaigns&ss_campaign_id=68fc14ade121f63ca9d4303d&ss_email_id=68fcca1d2fa115466c711170&ss_campaign_name=Come+make+art+with+us%21&ss_campaign_sent_date=2025-10-25T13%3A02%3A40Z> Read below about the new shows we are creating and see excerpts from them at An Evening With PCT! The Life & Work of Camille Claudel: a work-in-progress THE SHOW: We have just completed Week 3 of our creation process to develop a new, original show based on the life and work of French sculptor Camille Claudel. Using our signature blend of circus, dance, and physical theater, we are creating an impressionist portrait of this brilliant and troubled artist. THE TEAM: Directed by Felicity Hesed, choreographed by Rachael Servello, and created & performed by a team of 10 local, professional artists: James, Dallape, Meghan McClure, Kapi Lee, Matan Presburg, Chanty Aguirre, Emily Engelking-Rappeport, Yasmina Bourdais, Rosemary Le, Asha Jimenez, and Mikayla Dinsdale. ABOUT CAMILLE CLAUDEL: Born in 1864, Camille Claudel defied the expectations and restrictions placed upon her including the belief that a woman was incapable of creating great art, her relationship with Rodin out of wedlock, and the sensual content of her work which led to state censorship. Camille Claudel’s mental health challenges led to her being institutionalized. However, even after her mental health improved and the doctors requested she be released, she was left exiled in a mental institution for decades until her eventual death. The Little Circus: a work-in-progress PCT Company Member Yasmina Bourdais directs another show currently in development, The Little Circus. Inspired by the French classic The Little Prince, the story pokes fun at the ‘logic’ of adults and celebrates embracing one’s inner child. The show will capture the storybook quality with live narration acted out through circus. This creation is a collaboration with youth performers, Edie, Giovanni, Lila, Elia, and Mara, to create something unique and special, as we take a step back and see what circus could be through their eyes. Poster Artwork by Gina Hack. The Little Circus will premiere in Summer of 2026 at Children’s Creativity Museum as the culmination of PCT’s new program, the Youth All Star Show. The Youth All Star Show is a 3-week intensive, bringing together the best youth artists from around the Bay Area to train, create, and perform together. Auditions for the full show will open in January 2026. This production exemplifies PCT’s commitment to training, mentoring, and creating opportunities for the next generation of circus theatre artists.
