ZooFest 2025: A Resounding Success!

We are happy to announce that ZooFest 2025: Silverback Soirée, our annual gala fundraising event, exceeded our expectations and was a resounding success!

In its’ 55^th year, ZooFest has served as a crucial and important support for San Francisco Zoological Society’s wildlife conservation and education programs, as our attendees rediscover the importance of SF Zoo in our community and the City.

This year, we honored the esteemed Dr. Gloria Hing, who served as a Zoological Society Board Member and Emeritus Board Member for 30 years. She was presented with both a proclamation from San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and a certificate from State Senator Scott Wiener.

As part of the program, which included a fun cocktail reception, delicious dinner and dancing, our guests participated in a spirited live auction. Part of the live auction included our Fund-A-Need, which is made up of requests for items by our Animal, Veterinary and Conservation Departments. Thank you to those of you who bid and won, we are so grateful for your support.

A silent auction was also held that included one-of-a-kind animal art and gifts. This auction was opened up for any member of the public to bid. We thank everyone who participated to support us!

A special thank you to our ZooFest Committee Chairs, Kerry Deichen and Janie Friend, and to all of you who attended this eventful evening.

And of course, we want to thank Cecil, our newest resident and now leader of our Western lowland gorilla troop, for being the inspiration of this year’s ZooFest!
