Your security is our top priority. Starting today, September 30, 2025, you will have the option to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your FamilyTreeDNA account.

Turning on 2FA is optional but highly recommended—it adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring both your password and a unique verification code when you sign in.

How to enable 2FA on your account:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. Follow the setup wizard.
Please note: The wizard will pop up the first time you sign in. If you skip it, you can still enable 2FA anytime by following the steps below.
3. Select “Account Settings” from the menu under your name and kit number in the top right.
4. Under the Account Information settings, select Security Settings.
5. From the two-factor authentication section, click “Set up” and follow the instructions.
