What actually whitens teeth safely?

Hey Kai,​One of the biggest rabbit holes I went down while building Nathan & Sons was teeth whitening.​Because most whitening products are honestly pretty aggressive.​Whitening strips can work, sure. But a lot of them rely on peroxide-based bleaching agents that can increase tooth sensitivity and irritate your gums over time.​That didn’t sit right with me.​I kept thinking: Why does “whiter teeth” have to come at the expense of healthier teeth?​So I started researching alternatives.​And what I found was interesting.​A lot of surface stains don’t actually need harsh bleaching chemicals. They just need gentle polishing and a healthier oral environment overall.​That’s part of why I became obsessed with ingredients like pearl powder and nano-hydroxyapatite.​Pearl powder has been used historically for cosmetic and oral care purposes because of its extremely gentle polishing properties.​Nano-hydroxyapatite is even more interesting. Your enamel is already mostly hydroxyapatite.
