Dear parents,Our b/g twins will be 2y2m tomorrow and to
celebrate the occasion our daughter decided to go pant
less ;).The first day was messy, the second day is much
better - we are getting 90% of pee in the potty and
even attended public bathroom in the museum! Training
pants saved us from the poop disaster, full body shower
was needed only once. Hurray, she is going to parade
her new diaper free self in day care on Monday! The
problem is - our son is not ready. He doesnt
communicate when he is ready and thinks that puddles
are very interesting to watch form on the floor. He
sees his sister's new pants and demands the same only
to wet himself right away, or worse make a sticky mess
and run away from changing.Did you have similar
situations with your multiples? How did it resolve? Any
suggestions? Thank you!

Our sitter is sick, and we have two out-of-state
friends flying in for a reunion dinner that it will
kill us to miss. We live in the Inner Richmond, and
have six year-old boy-girl twins and a four year-old
boy. Babysitting involves hanging out with them,
usually doing art and watching Curious George, and then
getting them to bed around 8. If you know of anyone
looking for extra hours, please please please let me
know: hilaryandwendy@gmail.com. Thanks!Hilary

I might have someone...I usually pay her $20 an hour
and round up for a tip. Her name is Lucy and she is my
nanny's daughter (mid-20's /early 30's) and is super
good with my kids. Let me know & I can ask her to
contact you.I think you are coming to our birthday
party on Saturday :) It's Tava!

4. Natural Resources Fundraising campaign

molly397 - 11/18/2011 10:18 am
Natural Resources, a pregnancy, childbirth and early
parenting center, on Valencia Street is going through a
fundraising campaign in an effort to stay open and keep
serving San Francisco families. NR is similar to Day
One - but due to its location serves a lot more
families on the east side of town. They offer classes
and support groups - as well as have a retail
store. They have 11 days left in their campaign with a
goal of raising $45,000.Learn more about the campaign

5. medication safety

chae_reed - 11/18/2011 9:55 am
Help! I've developed an all-over body rash most likely
an allergic reaction to one of my pain meds (delivered
our twins this past Thursday). I am breast feeding and
am wondering if anyone has taken allergy meds or
topical anti-itch safely. anyone ever gone to see a
dermatologist? I am wondering if they might be able to
prescribe something strong and safe of course.
Otherwise I don't want to waste my time but it is
Friday! I have left a message with our pediatrician -
still waiting for a call back. Just thought I'd put it
out there in case. thank you and well wishes, -chae

6. Fireplace Babyproofing?

JessicaNoa - 11/18/2011 8:25 am
Hi,We are moving into our new house next week and we
need to babyproof the fireplace in our living room for
our 18 month old boys. Can anyone suggest a good
method? With just a screen, they will definitely crawl
in there and get covered with soot. Thanks,Jess

I went to home depot and bought a piece of plywood cut
into the size of the fireplace opening. Then I spray
painted it to match the walls. You can't use the
fireplace, but it keeps the kids out.

We filled ours with books stacked in columns and then
sealed up the outside with a clear panel of plastic
from Tap Plastics. I cut down thick, black presentation
boards and jammed them inside the bottom and sides of
the fireplace to keep the books clean. The plastic was
attached with velcro dots. Let me know if you'd like me
to send you photos. It looked pretty good and
definitely kept our babies out.

We put a bookshelf with Kid's books in front of it.
Also Childproofer gave us foam protector for the edge
of the bricks, a year later this thing is completely
ruined by curious twins, but it worked for that long!
