1. Garage Sale This Saturday

hashagen5 - 11/28/2011 10:20 pm
My teenage twin daughters (and I) are clearing out the
last of their childhood toys and equipment. Most
items are appropriate for kids of about 4-10. We
expect to have skates, two bikes, snow shoes, LOTS of
toys, a play kitchen, lincoln logs, cardboard blocks,
many other items. Also some non-child items: a large
Tumi rolling suitcase (28"), microwave, wicker rocker,
tire chains, an electric keyboard -- all the good
things you find when you clean out the garage. 1713

2. Looking for Part-time Nanny
--------------------------------------------------------
amallegni - 11/28/2011 8:03 pm
My nanny unfortunately is moving out of SF and my
husband and I are looking for a new nanny ASAP. We
ideally would like someone 2 days a week, flexible on
days, but could do 3. Any nanny recommendations would
be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Alexandra Mom to Jack
and Colette (3/2011)

5. 2.5 year old suddenly crying 30-45 min before falling asleep
--------------------------------------------------------
echung - 11/28/2011 9:00 am
I am back again a little heartbroken and concerned. My
kids have been sleep trained and had no problems for
over a year. They would quietly talk and sleep each in
their own room. But since four days ago my son has
started crying the moment I walk out or a few minutes
after we close the door calling for mommy. He cries
for 30-50 min until he tires himself out and falls
asleep. In the morning he is back to himself. When I
ask him why he cries he says he cried just a little
bit. When I ask him if he is scared and wants a light
he tells me lights are off for sleeping. Because we
never go back in once we say good night I want to stick
to it. But at the same time why his is happening. He
hasn't started preschool yet (he will in a few weeks),
has had no major changes. Anyone had similar
experiences? Thanks in advance. I am so grateful I have
this group to turn to.

I do not have a good advice, I am actually stuck on a
big bed in the same room with one of mine till she
falls asleep because I spoiled her while she was sick
:(. Now I do not have the heart to listen to an hour of
screaming.. But I wanted to share one thing - my
daughter just got potty trained and keeps saying that
she needs to get out to pee. Could that be contributing
in your case? I just remind her that she can pee in the
night diaper and she does it.

Hi there, thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about your
daughter. Our kids are indeed being potty trained and
wonder maybe he's upset because he think he peed?
Tonight he went to the potty before bath time and I
stayed in our bedroom and hummed so he could hear my
voice. He gently called me a few times "mommy?" and is
quiet now... so maybe that will work. Good luck with
your daughter's transition!

8. CARES Harnesses to Donate to SFPOM?
--------------------------------------------------------
hilaryandwendy - 11/28/2011 6:24 am
Hi--We have two CARES harnesses we're happy to donate
to the common fund of SFPOM, but I'm not sure if
there's a logical person to hang on to them (to be
fair, they both fit in a shoebox). It seems better
than donating them to someone, who then has to
re-donate them when their twins outgrow them, etc. Can
anyone let me know if this is possible? We're moving at
the end of the week and I'd love to get the
twin-specific things to a good twin cause
:)Thanks--Hilary
