For New Parents looking for a Pediatrician in Noe
Valley AreaCome join us for a nourishing lunch, and
learn what sacred foods will help you see these
benefits:Babies have better digestion; less gas,
diarrhea, constipation and excessive spitting up;
therefore less overall digestive pains and less overall
distress.Parents have reduced stress; they are rest
assured that their MamaKai meals are extremely
healthful as well as incredibly convenient to reheat or
grab on the go.Babies have better sleep patterns;
therefore mom gets more and better rest and experiences
less exhaustion overall herself.Moms and babies have
heightened immune response; with less inflammation,
colds, fevers, diaper rash and so on.Moms see an
increase in the quality and quantity in breast milk
production; typically leading to rapid weight increase
for the baby (this is a good thing) because they have
all of the key elements he/she needs for proper
development. The body knows how to grow and develop if
it has the right tools. When: Wednesday, March 13th,

Preggo Pilates (www.preggopilates.com)Do you have
abdominal muscle issues? Diastasis is a separation of
the abdominal muscles more common in moms who have had
multiples. The Tupler Technique is a series of
exercises designed to bring the abdominal muscles back
together. (Regular crunches can actually make diastatis
worse because they strain the muscles in a way that
causes them to separate more.) Come learn the correct
way to repair your tummy, help alleviate back pain, and
slim your waistline.

The link isn't working. Also, when I checked the link
in the last email about the sale regarding
volunteering, there was no information on volunteering,
just about selling. Given that getting volunteers is
such a big factor in this success of the sale, it would
seem to make sense to have information and the sign-up
available as early as possible so people can plan
ahead. Last time, it seemed like the volunteer info
came out very late and gave us little time to sort out
our schedule to accommodate the sale. Can we please get
info on signing up to volunteer earlier this time?
Thanks!

http://sfpom.org/consignmentsale/There is no volunteer
component to the sale. We are going to hire temporary
people to work the sale. There is more information in
the December issue of Multiplicity and there will be
some posts to the forum soon.If you have any General

I would suggest you stay in your own home when your
husband leaves, and have your mom come to you. My
father passed away three weeks after our twins were
born, and I took the babies to my moms house for five
or so days every two weeks to be with her. It was lots
more work to set up our "systems" in a new environment,
ie where they sleep during day vs night, where you
change them, feed them, etc. After a couple of months
of doing the commute, I had duplicates of everything at
her house and it got easier, but I think it would have
been much easier on me to have stayed put and not had
to deal with the logistics of "setting up house"
somewhere else. You didn't mention how long your
husband would be gone but I would also recommend
getting extra help in addition to your mother, unless
she is a dynamo. Even someone to come in for 10 hours a
week to give you both a rest could help quite a bit.
Good luck and congratulations!

Join Netflix for sure...you will get your moneys worth.
It's a great time to catch up on photo projects as
well.I was on bedrest for 10 weeks and I did survive by
putting a hospital bed in my living room. I got the
doctors to allow me to move from my upstairs bed to the
downstairs rented hospital bed (I think it cost about
$200 for the entire time, delivered). Looking at the
same 4 walls for that long would have made me crazy. I
was allowed to get up to make food and use the restroom
only and quick showers. There is tons of groups on yahoo
groups for pregnant people, I was on one with other IVF
people who also used my Doctor so it can be very
specific. I bet there is one for bedrest moms.Best of
luck!Tava

I was put on bed rest at 26 weeks. Things that made it
a bit easier for me were:1. Spending the day laying on
the couch, instead of in bed. I would have gone insane
if I had to spend 24 hours in the same place.2. My
husband bought me an e-reader as a gift. I enjoy
reading and liked that I could download a new book as
soon as I finished one. I used the time to read
countless books, both new and classics, that I never
seemed to have time to get to in regular life. This
also came in handy when I ended up finishing my bed
rest in the hospital.3. I used it as an excuse to
watch every chick flick my husband had vetoed seeing in
the theater. Our Netflix queue was full of things I'd
missed in the theaters the last few years.4. My
husband "packed" me food for the day so I didn't have
to do anything to prepare my meals. Our kitchen is two
floors down from our bedroom and the room I spent my
days in, so it was off limits, because of the stairs.
We have a small fridge in a bar area where I was, so my
husband would stock it with all I wanted/needed to eat
each morning. It made meals much easier.5. I had
people visit. There were lots of days when people
standing around my beached whale self seemed like the
last thing I would want, but I was always happy when
people were there and it made the time pass quickly.
If your friend isn't up for this, staying connected to
people in other ways -- by phone, online groups, etc.
-- is also helpful.6. My husband I celebrated the end
of each week, and the fact that I'd made it to the next
without going into labor, with a nice dinner. We'd
usually get take out that he picked up from one of our
favorite restaurants.Wishing your friend all the best.

Hilton Hawaiian Village is great for kids, great pools
and lagoon, safe for little ones and you can even
inquire about getting into their condo section so you
have 2-3 bedrooms with a kitchen, which is great with
kids so you don't have to go out for every meal. I
also found a great babysitting website and found a
great sitter one night which I might be able to dig up
her name if you stay on Oahu. You can check VRBO for
condos as well.Tava
