We have 2 members who have rsvp'd and would hate to
cancel this event. This is such an important topic that
needs to be address. Selecting a family member to take
care of your children in the event of an emergency is
not something that should be put off. And this advice
is FREE.Please rsvp by Friday so I know whether to
cancel the speaker.Kids Protection Planning is from a
legal perspective and covers issues that parents know
they need to think about, but are not always sure where
to get accurate information. Cassandra will explain the
simple steps that parents need to take to protect their
loved ones. The Kids Protection Planning Seminar will
include:* 9 Simple Steps they must take for absolute
peace of mind knowing that their children will be
protected no matter what.* Why they should name
guardians for their children now if they have not done
so.* How to choose the right guardian.* How to
protect their loved ones' inheritance from creditors,
predators, lawsuits, and divorce.* How to leave a
valuable legacy for their children that is much greater
than just their financial wealth. Biography: Cassandra
Massey is an attorney specializing in Estate Planning
in Alameda. Cassandra is also a mother.Event Details &

3. SF Transitional Kindergarten Update
--------------------------------------------------------
sharono - 3/6/2012 5:18 pm
Letters are being sent tonight to TK families that have
applied. Looks like there will be TK this fall -- only
at 2 locations. ===================SFUSD wants to
provide families with a clear understanding of what
they can depend upon for next year. We have been
attempting to reflect in our communications with
families the multiple questions that are still
unresolved regarding mandates and funding (e.g., the
Governor proposes to eliminate the mandate to provide
TK). Given that SFUSD cannot wait until the summer for
a definitive direction from the state, we plan to offer
a transitional kinder program for next year at two
Early Education schools regardless of the state's
decision: Havard and McClaren, regardless of whether
it is state mandated or funded. SFUSD will send TK
families a letter this week informing them that we are
committed to providing a TK program at these two sites
beginning fall 2012. Here is what we are letting
parents of TK eligible students know: SFUSD will offer
TK at Havard Early Education School and McLaren Early
Education School. At this time the SFUSD Educational
Placement Center is accepting applications from parents
who wish to enroll their child in a TK program at these
two sites. SFUSD will guarantee a TK placement at one
of these two schools. If these schools become fully
enrolled, SFUSD will offer every eligible student a TK
placement at another SFUSD Early Education school. Next
Steps for Parents interested in TK at Havard or McLaren
Early Education schools: - If you have already
submitted an enrollment application for Transitional
Kindergarten and would like to enroll your child in TK
at an Early Education school, please indicate on the
supplemental Early Education School TK Enrollment form
your order of preference for Havard and McLaren Early
Education school. - If you have not already
submitted an enrollment application and you would like
to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten at an Early
Education school, please submit the regular
Kindergarten enrollment form and the supplemental Early
Education School TK Enrollment form stating your order
of preference for Havard and McLaren Early Education
schools. Frequently Asked Questions Why is the district
changing course and not offering TK in elementary
schools district-wide next year as originally planned?
In the Governor's proposed budget for the 2012-2013
school year, school districts would not receive any
funding for Transitional Kindergarten and the state
would not mandate districts to offer it. Given that
SFUSD cannot afford to offer Transitional Kindergarten
in every school if it is not funded by the state, SFUSD
will offer TK at two sites: Havard Early Elementary
School and McLaren Early Elementary School. While the
California Department of Education continues to provide
updates and the situation may change over the course of
the next several months, the uncertainty regarding the
Governor's proposal prevents the District from
providing TK in the elementary schools as originally
planned. SFUSD's elementary school assignment process
is already underway for approximately 14,000 families,
and the District cannot place TK applicants into
integrated kindergarten programs without potentially
disrupting kindergarten assignments district-wide if
the TK requirement is eliminated.. In order to
minimize disruption to the majority of the applicant
families and to act in a financially responsible
manner, the District needs to plan for stand-alone TK
programs at sites that can accommodate TK children.
The Governor's budget is just a proposal. What if
the legislature decides to mandate and/or fund
Transitional Kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school
year? SFUSD will meet the requirement currently in law
by offering TK spots at two Early Education sites with
room to grow in 2012-2013: Havard and McLaren Early
Education schools. SFUSD will notify any parent who has
requested a TK slot to determine whether or not they
wish to enroll in TK at Havard or McLaren Early
Education schools. How do I hold a spot for my child in
TK at Havard and/or McLaren Early Education schools? At
this time the SFUSD Educational Placement Center is
accepting applications from parents who wish to enroll
their child in a TK program Havard or McLaren. Families
should complete both the general enrollment application
and the TK supplemental form. What if more families
want to go to Havard or McLaren for TK than there are
spaces available? Havard and McLaren Early Education
Schools have room to grow. If there are more requests
for a site than spaces available, the SFUSD
Kindergarten tie-breakers will be used to determine
placement. If more families request TK than there are
spaces available at both sites, then another site may
be identified. If I do not want to hold a spot for my
child in TK at McLaren or Havard Early Education
schools, what else can I do to ensure a school
placement for him or her? If your child is in preschool
and will not turn 5 by the November 1st deadline, the
District recommends that you ensure your preschool
provider can maintain a space for your child for the
2012-2013 school year. If your child is not enrolled in
a SFUSD Early Education school and you would like to
enroll him or her for the 2012-13 school year, you may
find out more information about eligibility for SFUSD
preschool placements by contacting the Early Education
Department at (415) 750-8500. Listed below our link to
the information and application.

We just arranged our life insurance through this broker
(who services my old employer): Justin D. Toney Vice
President TCS Insurance Agency CA License: 0C22758
(415) 464-2818 direct (415) 461-4427 main (415)
233-1821 mobile www.tcs-insurance.comHe did a great
job. He inputs your stats (age, non-smoker, gender,
etc.) into a database and gets instant quotes from
around 100 companies. He then shows you the financial
ratings for the cheapest five or so and you choose one.
His quotes were around 50% of what state farm quoted
me, and 25% of the system offered by my employee (which
doesn't require a medical, and so is more
expensive).Sent from my iPhone

As you can see, most people get their life insurance
through a broker who can help them navigate the
numerous companies and plans and help explain
everything along the way. I assume they all work the
same way -- you don't pay them a fee, but they get a
cut of whatever policy premium you sign up for. Ours
was recommended by our financial planner, whom we know
personally, and we've really liked working with her.
She was able to help me understand the confusing
insurance terms and she's also helping us renegotiate
different terms now that our employment situation has
changed with me as a SAHM. Delores SchoffmanKBR

insurance, and then I had them help me find cheaper
house/car/umbrella insurance as well. You just fill in
some basic info online, and they call you immediately.
