Can anyone recommend a preschool in the Inner Richmond
or environs? We are looking at Laurel Hill Co-op and
Peter's Place so far. Any suggestions or reviews much
appreciated!

I've heard good things about St. John's on California
and 8th, and Star of the Sea. Although they're held in
church environs, I don't believe they contain any
religion in their programs. My youngest is at Mother
Goose on 28th Ave. between California and Clement. My
older boys went through their program several years
ago. It's a larger school where you can separate your
twins if you want to experiment. Their application
process is different. You pay more for the
application, but you're assured a spot when you do (vs.
paying to apply and then never offered any spots).

WTB black bassinet for baby jogger city select
stroller- we already bought one used, but need a second
for our twins arriving soon. There don't seem to be
many people who buy or sell these so if you have one
and think you will need to sell in the next 6 weeks or
so, please let me know.

I have a question for you. How did you do it when they
were 5 months old? Did you buy an extra seat? Take a
car seat with you? Mine are 5 months now and I can't
imagine flying East with them alone! My older child
was super easy to travel with as a toddler and still
is. He carries his bag, stays close by and makes
friends with people on the plane. Never cries.
Granted, two is harder than one but I think you should
be optimistic! From my point of view, more mobility and
independence sounds great!

I traveled from SF to Park City, Utah via plane at 25
weeks with my Dr.'s blessing (five day trip). That
said, I don't think I would have done a longer trip, or
one with a connecting flight. I had previously
canceled a trip to Hawaii at 20 weeks due to placenta
previa and the longer flight, but the previa cleared
and my Dr felt OK with the 1.5 hour flight to Utah (I
wore compression stockings and drank an insane amount
of water). I had an ultrasound and pelvic exam two
days before the flight, and was prepared to cancel if
either showed anything at risk. You might ask your Dr.
if a fetal fibronectin test would be worth it as
well...We drove from SLC to Park City (about 45mins).
I took it super easy while there, and we rented a car
so that we could drive to SLC at the first sign of
trouble (Park City does not have a NICU). In the end,
all was well and I had a great time.If you go, I'd say
compression stockings, copious water, and knowing
exactly how to get to the nearest NICU are musts. I
also think, as others have said, you need to be
prepared to stay put if you start experiencing preterm
labor, or end up in the hospital. I'd recommend that
you don't carry *anything* while traveling except for a
small purse. I literally did not lift a bag and I
think it helped (you don't notice how much energy
lugging everything around takes!). Lastly, we scanned
all our ultrasound reports (MoDi twin pregnancy, so we
have lots!) so that we had them at our fingertips if
anything went wrong - didn't want to delay any Dr. by
having to request medical records, etc.Good luck to
you!Sarah

I went to Europe with my 4.5 year old between 22-24
weeks. I traveled in Economy Plus (so I could stretch
my legs alot), and with my husband. I landed in
familiar places (with close relatives) where I went
right to bed :-). My doctors basically said that those
are the borderline weeks for viability, so if I went
into labor here or anywhere, I should be prepared to
stay put and realize there might be nothing anyone
could do. They made it pretty clear that they didn't
want me traveling any later because NICUs and viability
are a real option at that point -- and you just want to
be near one, and preferably the one you don't mind
staying in if you need to. When I came back from
Europe -- I knew for sure that I could not have done
the trip if it had been 2 weeks later. Everything in my
body shifted. I was tremendously glad to stay put for
the rest of my pregnancy.... My husband and daughter
went on a trip without me when I was 28 weeks pregnant.
I was so delighted to have the silence of my house to
enjoy one last time. I thought I'd go out to movies and
dinners with friends. Instead, I just hibernated and
refused to answer the phone. (And I nested BIG TIME and
got rid of all kinds of crap.) It might be hard to
miss a big event, but don't underestimate how
delightful it might be to spend some last time alone
:-)
