2. Announcing: RESCHEDULE: Your Children are Listening: Nine
Messages They Need to Hear From You
--------------------------------------------------------
twinpeakstwins - 3/14/2012 10:23 am
Presented by Dr. Jim TaylorBased on his most recent
parenting book of the same name, this workshop focuses
on the essential that early messages from parents has
on children's development. Dr. Taylor explores why
messages are important, how messages are conveyed, and
what "message blockers" prevent messages from parents
from getting through to children. He will then describe
nine messages that children absolutely must get to
ensure that they develop into value-driven, happy,
successful, contributing people. Dr. Taylor places
special emphasis on practical strategies, such as
catchphrases, rituals and routines, and activities,
that parents can use to convey healthy messages to
their children.Jim Taylor, Ph.D., Psychology, has
consulted with young people, parents, and educators for
more than 25 years. He has been a speaker at numerous
elementary and secondary schools, youth-sports
programs, and performing-arts organizations around the
country.Jim is the author of Positive Pushing: How to
Raise a Successful and Happy Child and Your Children
are Under Attack: How Popular Culture is Destroying
Your Kids' Values, and How You Can Protect Them. His
latest book is Your Children are Listening: Nine
Messages They Need to Hear from You. He writes Prime
Family Alert!, a bi-monthly e-newsletter and blogs on
parenting for psychologytoday.com. Jim lives north of
San Francisco with his wife, Sarah, and their

4. Worried About Sharing Videos of Your Twins Online?
--------------------------------------------------------
GillianS - 3/14/2012 9:08 am
My husband recently launched a free video sharing site
with a focus on privacy: www.sidebark.com and I thought
it might be useful to other SFPOM twin parents. When our
sons were born, like any new parents, we took a ton of
pictures and videos. We wanted to share them with
friends and family, but struggled to find a site we
trusted. We enjoy using Facebook, but have concerns
about privacy and didn't want our sons to have a
trackable online profile at such a young age.
Similarly, YouTube feels very public -- we didn't want
anything going viral! So my husband quit his job as a
management consultant to build a service that we could
use. He had always wanted to start up a company, and
the birth of our children was a catalyst in many ways
to leave the comfortable security of his job to build
something he truly cared about. He built Sidebark to be
the safest and easiest way to share online, allowing
you to share easily with your Facebook friends but to
send files outside of the Facebook servers so as to
keep complete ownership and control. Anyone can use it
for free at www.sidebark.com, you just need a Facebook
account to log in. I know many parents are comfortable
sharing videos of their little ones on Facebook or
YouTube, but for those who aren't, Sidebark can
hopefully provide a secure alternative.I hope a few of
you might find it helpful!

I don't think 9 sick days a year is right, I have work
with a lot of nannies, always has been 5 days for a FT
Nanny, still now! Since she is not working full time
with you, 9 days is a lot, a week paid vacation is
fare; Although, If you travel, is fare for her to get
paid, and those days should not be consider as part of
her vacations, they have to pay bills and they have
their own life, I get on their shoes, and make sense.

Hi all- I'm due in may/June with twin girls and am
considering a cloth diaper service for the first 3-6
months and then maybe doing it on our own. We used the
Amazon 7th generation service for disposables for our
older son, but with double the diapers and cost, cloth
is starting to be more appealing. This post has a lot
of good information. Any other advice from anyone? My
husband also needs convincing, he hates to get his
hands dirty (though he was an excellent diaper changer
with our first) so need to keep this experience simple.
