For the first few months, we used bottled water. Then
we filtered our own using Brita but I know that doesn't
get rid of flouride. But we used that with the
formula. If we knew then what we know now, we'd use the
filter we NOW have! My husband just installed under
our sink this filter system (from Costco $150) which is
reverse osmosis. I think I remember hearing that this
is one of the only ways to remove some flouride from
water. Of course our kids are 5 now. So maybe they
need the flouride now! !! Can't win, eh?!--- On Wed,

anyone has updated advice.I cannot breastfeed
(mastectomies) so will be using primarily formula for
our twins, due in a few days (a gracious friend has
donated some breast milk).I have read that SF water may
have too much fluoride to be safely used for formula,
but my pediatrician does not seem to have an
opinion.Thoughts? Advice? What did you do?Add your

The American Dental Association recommends avoiding
fluoride when mixing formula. Here's a link to a PDF the
Environmental Working Group created- EWG's Guide to
Baby-Safe Bottles and
Formulahttp://www.ewg.org/files/EWG_babyguide.pdfWe had
these guys install our filtration system. They did a
great job figuring out what we wanted and installing
the right equipment. I highly recommend them.U.S. Pure

I have a friend who used distilled water because she
was concerned about chemicals in any water.. We used
tap, but I mostly BF, so I didn't give it much thought
since it wasn't their major drink.

We used bottled water at the beginning, and then we
switched to Brita-filtered.

I think it's a program that they do in a room adjacent
to Toddler Cove - we didn't do it, but looks like fun.
It has some circle time , music and so on. We have a
membership and it's our "go to" place when it rains.
The roof is also a fun place to check out - you can get
there by elevator.
