maximeko - 4/10/2012 1:52 pm
We need a car to carry 3 people in the back seat (2 car
seats and 1 mom). We live in Noe without a garage so
rely on street parking which means we prefer shorter
cars.Any recommendations?

twinpeakstwins - 4/10/2012 1:51 pm
Presented by Tom O'Brien(SFPOM member and father of
twins)This complimentary educational event will provide
parents with answers to some of the most frequent
questions they have in regards to saving for their
children's education and protecting their families with
life and disability insurance.— What are my options
for saving for college for my twins?— How does my
savings choice affect their ability to qualify for
financial aid?— How much life insurance do I really
need?— What are the different types of life
insurance and which one is right for me?— What
would happen if I was unable to work due to a sickness
or injury? Am I adequately covered at work? This
material is being presented by Tom O'Brien of SGC
Financial and Insurance Services. Tom is an SFPOM
member and parent of twins, born January 2012, and
lives in Laurel Heights with his wife Hilarey. He is a
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has an MBA from
Thunderbird, the Global School of Management. SGC is an
independently-owned and operated fee-based firm that
has been providing financial advice in the Bay Area
since 1950.Event Details & RSVP----------------------

6. 20% Off Strollers Any Time; New City Mini Double for $320!
--------------------------------------------------------
JJTwins - 4/10/2012 9:14 am
So I was just as surprised to find that Bed, Bath, &
Beyond carries strollers online. Some really nice ones
for parents of multiples such as the Bob Duallie for
$520 or the City Mini Double for $400. How would you
like to buy a new City Mini Double for $320 though?
Well, I discovered that those 20% off any single item
coupon from Bed Bath & Beyond can't be used online, but
if you take it into a store, they will order an online
item for you and give you the 20% off. BB&B carries
some really nice strollers that I never see on sale
like the new Joovy Cocoon X2, Mountain Buggy Duo,
Bugaboo Donkey, etc. You still have to pay shipping
and tax, but it's still a great deal if you're looking
to spend more than a few hundred dollars on a
double/triple stroller, do the math and you'll see it's
clearly worth a trip to BB&B. We just ordered our new
double stroller last week and I couldn't find it
anywhere else online for less even if we didn't have to
pay tax on it, so I think this is a great deal for
anyone and I thought it was worth sharing.

I have used Megan Nordin several times and am using her
again to switch our boy/girl nursery into a boy/girl
toddler room. She also designed our bedroom, chose
living room carpets and other projects here and there.
She is creative and reasonably priced. If you interview
her let her know Courtney and Tom sent you. good
luck!http://www.megannordindesigns.com/

Correction! EWG is wrong. I just checked the ADA
website for myself and found this response. Sorry to
have spread
misinformation!http://www.ada.org/4052.aspx#reconstituteIf
fluorosis occurs when teeth are developing, is it okay
to use fluoridated water to reconstitute infant
formula?Yes, it is safe to use fluoridated water to mix
infant formula. If your baby is primarily fed infant
formula, using fluoridated water might increase the
chance for mild enamel fluorosis, but enamel fluorosis
does not affect the health of your child or the health
of your child's teeth. Parents and caregivers are
encouraged to talk to their dentists about what's best
for their child.

I can't comment on the full term thing (I am only 24
weeks with my twins currently) but I just wanted to
mention that the Barbara Luke book FREAKED ME OUT,
mostly because of the amount of food/protein she tells
you to eat. Trust me, I'm a healthy eater and I am
*not* afraid to gain weight, but I realized there was
no way in hell I could eat 3200 calories every single
blessed day of my pregnancy, and no way that vegetarian
me could get anywhere close to the recommended 150 g of
protein every day either. I talked to my OB (Patricia
Robertson at UCSF-- I highly recommend her, she
specializes in twins) and she told me she didn't think
I even needed to get to 70 g protein per day, and not
to worry about my calorie intake unless I wasn't
gaining correctly. So far my weight gain has been
perfect per the Dr Luke book (and a little high
according to some other sources), and my babies are
huge and growing well. My doctor also seconds what
everyone else says-- water, water, water and rest, rest
rest! My body told me naturally to slow down around 20
weeks, and I can tell when I've been over-doing it
because I get contractions. Contractions are a sign
that you need to drink a big glass of water and lie
down.

I'm not at the end yet, just 36 weeks on thurs.Worked
until 35 weeks in FiDi but no driving.Swimming was a
godsend, I still do it 2X per week but started out at
3X. My perinatologist (perinatal assoc)is a fan of
exercising away any aches and pains, which is pretty
rare.Water all the time, make sure pee is always faint
yellow at most.Eat proteinPoop regularlyBuy all the
wedges and pillows you need to sleep at nightI do
reflexology weekly which helps with the stuffy nose.
