starts to plummet with the arrival of the first child.
With multiples it can plummet even more! Yet, there are
many things that couples can do to communicate
productively and to resolve conflict. In this workshop
we'll discuss the most effective strategies to maintain
or restore intimacy, communicate productively, and
strengthen your marriage. We'll talk about:* Common
gender differences around sex and intimacy* Best and
worst ways to resolve conflict* How to communicate in a
way that actually gets you what you want* Best ways to
resolve differences around parenting* How to know
what's normal conflict and when your marriage is in
trouble.Dr. Coleman is a psychologist in private

Your participation will only make our group

recent parenting book of the same name, this workshop
focuses on the essential that early messages from
parents has on children's development. Dr. Taylor
explores why messages are important, how messages are
conveyed, and what "message blockers" prevent messages
from parents from getting through to children. He will
then describe nine messages that children absolutely
must get to ensure that they develop into value-driven,
happy, successful, contributing people. Dr. Taylor
places special emphasis on practical strategies, such
as catchphrases, rituals and routines, and activities,
that parents can use to convey healthy messages to
their children.Jim Taylor, Ph.D., Psychology, has

3. 2 week trip to Europe w/ 13 mo olds - stroller/carriers plus
other packing tips?
--------------------------------------------------------
nodelmonkey - 4/24/2012 3:02 pm
My husband and I are headed to Europe with our twins
who will be 13 months at time of trip. We are debating
whether we should take a stroller or not. So far,
we've traveled only domestically with them and
generally check our City Select under the plane and
carry babes on the plane in our infant carriers. We'd
love to avoid taking a stroller if possible but I'm
curious if we're going to want one to be a little more
mobile in terms of naps (our kids can nap in stroller
if we're out and about) and also so we're not carrying
them all the time everywhere. I'm going to see if
renting strollers there is an option but am thinking it
might be best to have our own with us. Just debating
if lugging it around is feasible also - we'll probably
have tiny car there to get around in. Has anyone done a
similar trip with your babes before and have any advice
on what worked in terms of stroller/carrier/etc.?
We're still in front carriers also and am told we may
wish to switch to backpack carriers for the trip which
might make it more feasible to carry them around in
(though not sure if napping in them is doable or not).
We also thought about getting some cheap umbrella
strollers to make travel less bulky. We have some time
between now and then to practice and test new ideas
out. Any other tips or ideas for our trip would be
appreciated!

4. Sienna vs. Pilot - can't decide which will be better - three
young kids
--------------------------------------------------------
anonymous - 4/24/2012 10:33 am
My husband and I are debating between the Sienna and
the Pilot. I lean towards the Pilot I think and he
seems to lean slightly toward the Sienna. Neither are
really desirable (big cars, not particularly
attractive, poor gas mileage), but with a 2 year old
and twins coming, here we are.As I see it:Pilot
Pros-variety of car seat configurations all with
latches (three across middle row, two in middle in any
position and one in third row)-ability to reach in and
buckle in two year old in third row from side of
car-slightly shorter than Sienna-better Tahoe car
(albeit that trip will be rare)Pilot Cons-husband hates
the way it looks-not as nice inside as Sienna-no
sliding doors-cannot walk through to third rowSienna
Pros-auto sliding doors-ability to walk through to
third row if center of second row is removed-nice
interior finishesSienna Cons-I think I would have to
get all the way in the car to buckle 2 year old in
third row (I'm short)-longer car than Pilot-It's a
minivan :)-Not as good of a Tahoe car (rare trip like I
said)We looked at other three row cars that were
smaller, but since our older child is 2 and is
obviously not yet in a booster, most other third rows
won't work. Our garage should fit either car, so that's
good. I just can't decide which is better for us.Have
you looked at both? Any feedback? Thanks.

We LOVE LOVE our pilot and have had our twins and their
playdate friends in the pilot as well as a 2nd family
because of the 3rd row. I can't compare to a mini van
since I have never had one. We also go to Tahoe every
weekend since kids are on ski team and the pilot is
great in the snow. From: no_reply@lists.bigtent.com To:

We love our Sienna. It's a great Tahoe car (have gone a
lot) & the sliding doors are invaluable. My step sister
w/ a Pilot is extremely envious of our Sienna. The
trunk space is incomparable. Even when we have the
third row up, the trunk is huge. Not so w/ the
Pilot.MarcySent from my iPhoneOn Apr 24, 2012, at 10:35
