I'm putting together the room for my twins arriving in
June or July. For my first daughter I had a rocker. I
was going to get a rocker or a glider for the twins.
But they I thought maybe I need two so that two people
can sit and rock the babies?is that overkill? Did you
have two?

2. Crib tent safety

My 2 year old girls are getting out of their cribs at
nap time. I've tried separating them but it hasn't
eliminated the crib-jumping. In reviewing the archives
it looks like, at least as of a couple of years ago,
people were using crib tents to stop this type of
behavior. I'm slightly hesitant to use them because of
the stories I've heard about strangulation, etc. Is
this a legitimate concern? Urban legend? In other
words, are crib tents safe? Assuming so, is there a
specific brand that's better/safer than others?Thx in
advance,Beth

We found the crib tents really helpful and safe
(well...until those little fingers found a way to open
the zippers...then it was over!) I think if you follow
the instructions perfectly, there shouldn't be anything
for them to choke on, there are lots of tie-downs etc.
to keep them in place. They did for sure keep the kids
in their cribs until they could open them themselves
and climb out safely. Best wishes on this phase!

Events are only 7 - 8:30 and we have a nice dinner if
you can make it earlier at 6:30. Come out and meet
fellow members and learn a lot of great information.
Your participation will only make our group
stronger.Presented by Dr. Jim TaylorBased on his most
recent parenting book of the same name, this workshop
focuses on the essential that early messages from
parents has on children's development. Dr. Taylor
explores why messages are important, how messages are
conveyed, and what "message blockers" prevent messages
from parents from getting through to children. He will
then describe nine messages that children absolutely
must get to ensure that they develop into value-driven,
happy, successful, contributing people. Dr. Taylor
places special emphasis on practical strategies, such
as catchphrases, rituals and routines, and activities,
that parents can use to convey healthy messages to
their children.Jim Taylor, Ph.D., Psychology, has

We started preschool full-on M-F 8:30-4p at 2.5 years
old. The only prep I wished I did was expose the boys
to some germs. They were sick from day 3 of preschool
for the entire winter season. But they are thriving in
all other aspects.
