3. Triplet Au Pair (2nd year) looking to extend in the Bay Area
--------------------------------------------------------
debspr - 5/18/2012 1:56 pm
I just heard about an amazing triplet au pair that is
available in June. She has worked as an au pair with 9
year old triplets for the past year but would like to
move to the Bay Area for her second year. She looks
amazing! She is older (24), is from Poland, drives. Her
current triplet mom host mom says this about her:
"Malwina is a wonderful person and our children love
herShe is responsible with the children and will do a
good job, our children are all 9, but she can probably
handle a wider range of kids well. She is flexible and
will do whatever you ask of her."The cost of a live-in
au pair is $360 per week for 45 hour of childcare
(includes medical insurance and agency fee). There is
a twins discount of $575 also.Email or call me and I'll
be glad to tell you more about this second year au pair
(and send you her application). I also have a few
other twins experienced au pairs that are looking to
come to the Bay Area.Deb SchwarzChildcare and Multiples

Child's Light charges a monthly fee (it's a flat fee
per family, regardless of the number of children they
see). On top of that, you pay them fee-for-service
(e.g. whenever they see your child). They bill in 15
min increments (vs. flat fees that most doctors charge
for an office visit). They don't accept insurance, so
you are in charge of submitting for reimbursement. As a
result, there is more paperwork on your part. How much
more expensive they are than a regular doctor depends
on your insurance, HSA etc. We have to pay their
monthly fees OOP -- our insurance and HSA won't
reimburse for that, though I believe some do. After
that, our insurance pays a portion of their fees as
they do with any out-of-network PPO provider, and we
pay the rest or submit it to our HSA. Originally we
thought we'd do this for the first year, when you see
the doctor so often. But now I can't imagine ever going
back to the old way. The level of service, knowledge,
and kid care is too high to ignore. Obviously, though,
that's a personal choice.

Oops, missed part two of your question. They perform
most tests in-house, including things like
shots/vaccinations, urinalysis, catheterization. Those
are just the ones we've experienced -- I'm sure there
are other things they're equipped to do in house as
well. Things they send you elsewhere to do include
radiology (X-Rays, ultrasounds, CT scans) and
bloodwork, but that's no different from any doctor
office I've ever been to; I've never gotten that stuff
done by my primary care physician, always had to go to
a lab etc. If you have other questions, I'm happy to
answer them catherineshattuck@gmail.com or we can chat
on the phone. I'd also suggest you meet with the
doctors; they always do a house visit to explain the
service and answer any questions and let you see if you
have good chemistry before you commit.

We love the SFbay Pediatric group, especially Dr.
Michelle Pepitone and Dr. Heidi Moore. Dr. Moore is
due with twins this July and will be out for 3 months.
Both of these doctors are incredibly patient, sweet and
very smart.I am a nurse at CPMC and was recommended to
this group by many of the Doctors that I work with at
CPMChttp://www.sfbaypeds.com/meet-the-doctors/

Could I be able to have/view a copy A's well? We'll be
traveling to Disneyland and with 3 kids (2 one year
olds we're lapping but need a stroller and one 7 year
old in a wheelchair & carseat). Luckily we'll have 2
extra hands. Any experience w/ Southwest? I'd fly
something roomier but I need to go to OC.

You probably already know about this but be sure to
stop at guest relations at Disneyland and pick up a
"guest assistance card" for your kiddo in a wheelchair.
With a guest assistance card you don't have to line up
in a regular line, you usually go into the rides
through exit (they will give you a map) or fast track
but don't need to get a fast track pass. Most of time
there's only brief wait. You can add a maximum 6 people
to the card, so as long as you are all hitting the
rides together you all get to jump the line. It's a
really wonderful thing they do for families. Let me
know if you have any other DL questions- we were just
there in Dec with our three.
