I am having twin girls in a few weeks and maybe I am
overthinking it, but I am kind of worried about
confusing the babies when I get home if they look
similar.Any ideas of ways to attach their "identity" to
them? I was thinking maybe a spot of nailpolish on
their toe nail. Or keep the hospital bracelets on. Any
other tricks?

Valid concern! Our identical boys were born at almost
exactly the same birth weight, and with no easily
distinguishable features (birth marks, etc). We
definitely could not tell them apart at first.Our
solution was to leave one hospital band on (the anklet
on one twin). We left it until it got too tight, and
then I put a cloth anklet on one of them just as backup
until everyone can reliably tell them apart (it took me
about a week - my husband and the night doula are still
not entirely confident at six weeks - esp as when they
are newborns their looks change so quickly).Other
tricks I've heard: - Nail polish on one twin's
toenails - it was suggested that we avoid fingernails
bc they put them in their mouths so often (I didn't
like this bc it involved undressing the baby to figure
out who was who - I can feel the anklet through
clothes)- Color coding clothes (which of course does
not work so well for bath time, and can get tricky with
late night changes!)- Fingerprints should be different
(my experience is that this does not work until they
are older as getting good fingerprints @ this age
proved hopelessly difficult for us)- Ears are often
different (turns out to be the case for us)Other
advice: one twin mom friend of mine still thinks she
may have switched hers a few times. Her advice was not
to worry about it :). Doesn't work for us as we have a
medical reason to need to keep them straight...Good

This isn't for any of the places you asked about -- but
we LOVED our Bradley classes. I've posted about this
before, but we're huge fans, especially of our
particular Bradley instructor, Sabine Henrie-Naffaa.
She's actually in Berkeley, but close to the bridge, so
it was no more than a 20 minute drive from our house,
and that's about the same time it takes to get across
SF!It's totally partner-oriented, and covers SO much -
prenatal care, prep, breastfeeding, nutrition,
labor/delivery, post natal care (of mom and baby), what
to expect at every step of the way, birth plans, what
options there are and how to ask about them - we
honestly could have cancelled our birth doula and been
just fine, once we took those classes. The classes
are small, too - ours was 4 couples total - so you get
to know your peers. It's usually a 12-week class, 2-3
hrs/session, but I know they have some accelerated
ones, depending on instructor/location. They aim for
natural childbirth, and have a really high success rate
- but you also learn about all the other options and
possible interventions, so you're pretty well-prepared
should the unexpected happen. Even when we felt like
we had to DRAG ourselves TO the class, we ALWAYS came
out feeling excited and empowered and inspired. You
