I'm taking the kids away for the Summer and am looking
to rent my place for about 10 weeks. It's a single
family house in Noe Valley/Valencia Corridor. If you
know anyone who is remodeling their place and needs a
place to be for a couple of months, or someone
relocating or that has family coming to SF for the
summer, please let me know.ThanksGedaliaDad to Ari and

2. French Preschool

Hello twin parents, Our lovely french immersion
preschool will have two openings in the fall, as my
boys were accepted to the French American School in
Sunnyvale. I would love it if another set of twins
could take their place. A La Vanille is a French
immersion preschool in South San Francisco that caters
to the niche of families who believe in naturally
occurring language acquisition through fun,
age-appropriate,non-academic preschool activities. My
boys attended ALV for two years and have made French
their own language, despite the fact we speak English
at home. The preschool serves hot, healthy home made
lunches and my boys will eat almost any veggie I put in
front of them because of this (even the previously
picky eater). They also spend lots of time outside in
the fresh air. Rossanna, the director, has lots of
experience with twins (and a weakness for them)and
would welcome a set in September. One of the
co-teachers also has older twin girls. It's rare they
have two spots available at the same time. (I put my
boys on the waitlist when they were 10 months old to
start at 2 1/2). Children do not have to be toilet
trained to start, although my boys were so I don't know
much about how they support toilet training at school.
Rossanna has being very mindful of tuition for two
children at the same time, and has offered to waive the
registration fee for both children (just mention the
twins group and Barbara Davidson). The preschool has
been invaluable in helping the boys get accepted at a
fantastic private school, as well as providing
developmentally appropriate activities for my boys,
creating an excellent foundation for learning. Please
feel free to e-mail me for more info, the website for
the school is: www.alavanille.com Thanks, Barbara

3. Overwhelmed - is a Mother's Helper the answer?

Hi all, we've got 6-month old boy/girl twins and are
really feeling overwhelmed lately now that I'm back at
work. Not with them so much as with things like dishes,
laundry, paying bills, watering plants, cooking etc.
There doesn't seem to be any time to get things done.
The boy will only nap for about 30 minutes at a time so
it's a mad dash to scarf down some food, let alone
empty the dishwasher! Wondering if anyone has some
advice on the best way to get a few hours time here and
there to do this stuff. Should we hire a mother's
helper for a few hours on the weekend? Or even in the
evenings after work? What exactly do Mother's Helpers
do? And what's the average rate? The other option seems
to be to hire a babysitter to babysit while we are
home. Is that more expensive than a Mother's Helper?
Any advice and information is much appreciated -
thanks!
